Salade Nicoise
This summer I have decided that I am going to try and learn a new recipe each day. The luxury of being able to muck around in the kitchen testing stuff is one of my true guilty holiday pleasures. In truth, I get into a bit of a rut during our everyday school/work/activities/homework life -- ...

This bulgur salad is such a thankful dish to make! It's the perfect companion to any kind of main but we've mostly been eating it with grilled vegetables, cheese, fish or meat. It has a lovely taste (nutty, fresh and creamy) and an interesting texture. It can be prepared beforehand and keeps in the fridge for ...

Dandelion Potato Salad
In Slovenia, where I was born and bred, almost everybody eats this kind of salad at this time of the year. It is very common for us to go out and pick dandelion leaves in the big, clean (dog free!) meadows. They are the most delicious at the beginning of spring, before the plants bloom ...

A flavourful garden kale salad with Tamari and sesame
When it comes to good cooking, I feel like there are two kinds of people. There are the ones who can cook by closely following trusted recipes (this is me), and then there are people who can open their fridge, see what's inside and feel inspired to get creative and cook up something delicious. These ...

It's something we've been talking about doing for ages now, but were just not ever organised enough to make happen.  Last month we finally mustered up the courage, lined up the right ...

Kale Salad Recipe
My friend Sally sent me this recipe last year, and it has become a staple in our weekly dinner routine. It's such an easy way to fill up on a plate of healthy kale, and it's as delicious as it is easy. It's a bit like a ceasar salad (it has that lemony, garlic dressing ...

It's summer and it's hot here! I'm not really in a cooking mood but I still want to eat fresh things. This salad is simple, colourful and quick -- it makes a great light starter. It's not Italian, I suppose it could be Greek but funnily enough I ate it many years ago in a ...
