Olivier Baby and Kids, at the ShopUp this week!
Olivier Baby and Kids is one of my favourite places to find cosy cashmere products for the kids. Last winter Marlow lived in her little bonnet and all the kids had one of their snoods, each a different colour to keep things easy when bundling up before leaving the house. This year they've added hand-knitted pom-pom hats (with ...

MamaOwl -- a one-stop shop for merino wool and beautiful knitwear
It seems like so many of our blog posts in the past few weeks have been focused on cosy knitwear!! Tis the season, I guess... and it's a beautiful one! In addition to a roaring fire and lots of hot chocolate, beautiful, thick, cosy knitwear is one of my favourite things about the winter season. (Seeing these ...

Beautiful fashion and knitwear from Omibia
Last year at the ShopUp, a sweet lady came up to me, presenting me her beautiful business card and telling me about the brand she was setting up, a collection of luxury children's fashion and knitwear called Omibia. She told me she hoped that next year she could join us for the ShopUp, and I ...

Handknit jumpers and pompom hats from Babaà
We've just returned from a road trip to Amsterdam to see Esther and her family, and I'm having such a fun time looking at all the photos from our time together. Eight kids is a lot of little people to feed and bathe and entertain and clean up after... but it was so much fun! It's ...

Mormor, gorgeous, hand-knit clothing
Mormor is a Danish company with a collection of hand knit products that I adore. The concept behind Mormor is wonderful: to pass on the knowledge and skills that many elderly women possess. Mormor currently has a team of over 130 women who are passionately knitting sweet and fashionable designs for a younger generation. I ...

Chunky woollen jumpers from Babaà
Is there anything better than a sunny, crisp Autumn day when you can leave your bulky coats at home and just head out in woollen jumpers?! (Those days are few here in London, so it is extra special when that happens!) The children's knitwear from Babaà is my favourite! Everything is hand made in Spain ...

A frog in the pocket...
Sometimes a new children's brand comes along that does something totally new and different. And these days, with all the many children's clothing labels out there, 'new and different' is not easy to do. But Elfie, a London-based brand started by two fashion designer sisters, does exactly that. Take one look at their beautiful photography ...

Smart jumpers!
So sweet, these cashmere jumpers by Les Enfantines from Clara de Paris! Made from a gorgeous quality cashmere, they are luxurious, soft and warm to start with. But what makes them really stand out are the interchangeable collar designs! You can remove the collars very easily (there are little buttons in the neck line) and ...

FUB collection
I recently discovered the Danish children's brand, FUB,  which specialises in beautiful, organic cotton and wool knitwear for kids aged 6 mos to 8 years. I love the little details like elbow patches, wooden buttons, and clever accents of colour. I also love that many of the pieces can be worn by girls or boys ...

Madison Browne does cashmere
My husband and I joke that the upside to English weather is that you never have to switch out your winter wardrobe for your summer one, and you can wear cashmere all year long! (Seriously, yes -- summer is really that bad here.) Now, buying cashmere for your kids does seem a bit indulgent... but ...

How can we manage worrying information around our children? Today’s blog post looks at these ‘unprecedented’ times. With news reels, articles, conversations, not only between adults but children too that are hard to ignore. It is impossible to shield our children from the worries and events of the wider world, and important to share some truths with them about what is happening. We are, as Maria Montessori put it, “Citizens of the World” and our children will be the ones to inherit it. Being in lockdown, (hello to everyone at home!) can make for a really good environment to nurture discussion, as we have time to drip feed explanations, observe reactions and unpick tricky questions. There are some simple ways we can help stem and support the flow of information, manage anxieties and make sense of the world around us all. So today we have tips in our bio, so click on the link and share with loved ones. And please stay safe. #babyccinokids #explainingcoronavirustokids @themontessoristudio

The Dictionary of Difficult Words by Jane Solomon is a great hit. It is filled with over 400 whimsical words which continually amaze us ... words like ‘bumbershoot’, ‘spaghettification’, ‘hurdy-gurdy’ and ‘ombudsman’ are carefully described and fantastically illustrated by Louise Lockhart. I mean how cool is the word ‘hurdy-gurdy’?! Read more about the book on today’s blog. #babyccinokids #babyccinoreads @vanessa_wild_flours

We’ve had a full-on week with home learning (as you all have I imagine) and managed to survive (just) the week in the house together. But this morning I felt we all needed a little time out from the work and we did maths through baking by making these delicious cookies. They were out of the oven just in time for a mid-morning brain break. I think we’ve tried every recipe for chocolate chip cookies but this is our favourite and today I thought I’d share it with you. I must warn you, they are not the healthiest, but during these times I think we are all in need of a little treat. Thanks to @vanessa_wild_flours for this idea ... and click on our bio for her yummy recipe! #babyccinokids #babyccinoeats

The secret to a happy home... freshly baked cookies! And with only three ingredients your precious pantry won’t be robbed of its’ resources. The recipe for these mouth-watering (and gluten free) Peanut Butter Cookies : -1 cup of peanut butter -1 cup of brown sugar -1 egg In a large bowl, mix the ingredients together until you have a smooth, consistent dough. Using your hands, roll dough into small balls and place on a baking tray, evenly spaced. Press a fork into the dough balls in opposite directions making a criss-cross pattern. Then bake at 350° F (175° C) for 8-10 minutes. And that’s it. So easy! Enjoy. @courtneyadamo #babyccinokids #babyccinoeats #glutenfree
