My New Years Resolutions 2018
I actually had completely forgotten to make New Years resolutions until I read Esther's post earlier this week! It inspired me, so I decided to write down my very own resolutions and share them with you. I am totally aware that some of these ideas will fall by the wayside (see above photo where I ...

Busy Boxes: a great idea to keep little ones entertained
Super simple ideas are the best, and this idea of a BUSY BOX for bigger siblings, which is great for both mamas and kids, will help enormously in the early weeks & months of second (or third) time motherhood (especially if you don't have extra help at home!). We know newborns love to feed, sleep, ...

Encouraging your child to walk
Over the past ten months of our travels, Michael and I have fallen into a bad habit. We try to encourage Marlow to walk wherever we go, but she never gets far before asking (and then demanding...) to be carried. She has become so spoiled having both her parents (and big brothers!) with her every day, ...

A fun way to use all those conkers your kids have collected
My friend, AC, is one of those wild outdoorsy types (in the coolest of ways, of course) who embraces the outdoors, no matter the weather, and comes up with the most creative and fun ways to entertain her kids. She's such a fun mama, and I'm really hoping she'll rub off on me a bit in the ...

Super hero photo booth
A few weeks ago we threw my son Henrik a super hero party.  I thought it would be fun for the kids to feel like they were real super heroes flying through the sky saving lives, so we created a city scene photo booth.  At first the kids didn't understand why they needed to lay ...

A beach scavenger hunt
My kids and I spent last week at my family's beach house on Bainbridge Island, just off Seattle. We had friends from Belgium join us, and our six kids ran around from dawn until way after dusk playing on the beach and swimming in the cold water. When we woke up one morning to blustery ...

Tree mural
A while ago I got the idea of painting a tree on a blank wall in Ivy's room. I was sort of inspired by this image I saw on Pinterest -- at first I was just going to put up a painted cardboard tree (to make it less permanent) but then I figured we would ...

A very interesting cultural phenomenon and quite the controversy of helicopter parenting! ‘Comfort Zones’ is an anthology of essays written by a pool of women writers who were invited to think about their usual ‘comfort’ subject matter and then work against it. This ‘tackling of unfamiliar grounds’ results in a compelling read — according to @vanessa_wild_flours a ‘dip in and out of’ kind of book which sounds like the perfect holiday read to us!
