I managed to snap a couple photos of my little helpers and thought I would share. If you haven't yet discovered the Smitten Kitchen brownie recipe, you ...

The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook
My favourite cooking website is, without a doubt, the Smitten Kitchen blog. Deb Perelman's posts are hilarious and easy to read and she does not take herself too seriously. Just the kind of person I would love to take cooking tips from. You might have noticed that Courtney and I have started linking to Deb's ...

One for the Guys
When we were staying at my dad's house in France a few weeks ago, there was a copy of 'Fired Up' by Ross Dobson hanging around in the kitchen. Obviously left behind by one of the house guests -- my dad never cooks! My husband on the other hand, even though not the cook in ...

Food is Fun!
It's not necessary to convince my daughter Sara about the pleasures of eating -- she has loved food since I first put a spoon in her mouth (unlike her little baby sister Ava). So this fun food book by Anorak is just perfect for her -- we've been reading it together and already tried out ...

Berry season
I remember as a kid I came home during lunch break and my mum sent me to the neighbours (who had a strawberry farm) with a very little amount of money and I came back with a wooden crate filled to the top with strawberries -- the reddest, sweetest, biggest and tastiest variety you can ...

A Hearty Breakfast for Valentine's Day!
With Valentine's Day approaching soon, I couldn't resist purchasing this amazingly cool heart shaped frying pan. I'm not yet sure whether I'll serve the pancakes or the eggs, or maybe both... But I'm positive my family will love them (and me)! I got mine from this shop here in the Netherlands, but it's -- among ...

Actually THIS is the best Banana Bread recipe ever
Seriously....throw out that one that your grandmother gave you that's forty generations old.  On second thought, just burn all of your cookbooks because you will probably not want to eat anything but this particular banana bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the rest of your life. I found this recipe in a lovely little ...

Wild Garlic, or Ramson, is abundant in early Spring. We have a simple pesto recipe in our bio which is great with pasta, on fish, or with a cheese toastie! And if you are wondering what’s so good about wild garlic, well, it’s great for you! It has antibacterial, antibiotic, antiseptic properties so it makes sense to pack as much into your diet as you can. It reduces blood pressure, heart disease and the risk of stroke. It’s also fun to forage. Recipe from @laraoflondon
