PARK pass a ball to a child in need.
The idea behind PARK is a lovely one. Simply said -- for every ball they sell, PARK will pass an identical ball to a child in need. An amazing initiative, with a noble idea behind it: that football can change the world. Sam and his friend Tara started PARK because they believe football has the power to transcend ...

When you have a premature baby...
This is a guest post by my friend Silke. She had two premature sons:  Max, born at 25 weeks and Felix, born at 28 weeks. She recently has put much effort into the launch of the Hearts Milk Bank, a not-for-profit social enterprise, which will soon operate in Greater London to fill the current shortages ...

ShopUp Raffle in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital children's charity
Whether or not any of us have ever been in hospital with our children, we probably all know a child who has been seriously sick and in need of special care. At the very least, we have all probably entertained the thought of our worst fears becoming a reality – the dreadful what-ifs of having ...

Downloadable cards -- for a good cause
Loving these downloadable cards that Virginie Dreyer designed for TinyUs! The downloads will be sent to you after you make a donation (however small or big you would like), of which the proceeds will go entirely to "Présence", an educational institute for young handicapped individuals in the South of France. I love it. (The super ...

Big Blue Cuddle
I love webshops that are cute and have an ethos behind them. Check out Big, Blue Cuddle -- a webshop with a conscience and a really interesting idea behind it. Lara, the founder, buys the surpluses from children's labels she loves and sells them on her webshop. She then donates 15 - 50% of the profits ...

Give good Karma -- the best gift of all
Did you know that each year in Australia close to $1 billion is spent on unwanted gifts that end up in storage, in the bin and ultimately in landfill? Isn't it crazy? Such awful wastage!  That's exactly how  Melbournite Ashley Rosshandler felt before setting up the Karma Currency Foundation and launched Australia's first Online Charity Gift Voucher. ...

Haiti
I am sure everyone has heard about the horrible, horrible situation in Haiti brought along by the earthquake. We asked our friend Fionnuala, a Paris mum who adopted two kids from Haiti 2.5 years ago, to write about Haiti and the small charities that are currently doing their best to help alongside the big, international organizations. ...

How can we manage worrying information around our children? Today’s blog post looks at these ‘unprecedented’ times. With news reels, articles, conversations, not only between adults but children too that are hard to ignore. It is impossible to shield our children from the worries and events of the wider world, and important to share some truths with them about what is happening. We are, as Maria Montessori put it, “Citizens of the World” and our children will be the ones to inherit it. Being in lockdown, (hello to everyone at home!) can make for a really good environment to nurture discussion, as we have time to drip feed explanations, observe reactions and unpick tricky questions. There are some simple ways we can help stem and support the flow of information, manage anxieties and make sense of the world around us all. So today we have tips in our bio, so click on the link and share with loved ones. And please stay safe. #babyccinokids #explainingcoronavirustokids @themontessoristudio

We’ve had a full-on week with home learning (as you all have I imagine) and managed to survive (just) the week in the house together. But this morning I felt we all needed a little time out from the work and we did maths through baking by making these delicious cookies. They were out of the oven just in time for a mid-morning brain break. I think we’ve tried every recipe for chocolate chip cookies but this is our favourite and today I thought I’d share it with you. I must warn you, they are not the healthiest, but during these times I think we are all in need of a little treat. Thanks to @vanessa_wild_flours for this idea ... and click on our bio for her yummy recipe! #babyccinokids #babyccinoeats

The secret to a happy home... freshly baked cookies! And with only three ingredients your precious pantry won’t be robbed of its’ resources. The recipe for these mouth-watering (and gluten free) Peanut Butter Cookies : -1 cup of peanut butter -1 cup of brown sugar -1 egg In a large bowl, mix the ingredients together until you have a smooth, consistent dough. Using your hands, roll dough into small balls and place on a baking tray, evenly spaced. Press a fork into the dough balls in opposite directions making a criss-cross pattern. Then bake at 350° F (175° C) for 8-10 minutes. And that’s it. So easy! Enjoy. @courtneyadamo #babyccinokids #babyccinoeats #glutenfree
