Books Are Magic
A neighborhood bookstore is so much more than simply a place to purchase books, don't you think? As a local, a bookstore's a place to be home without being home, a second living room, a place to gather, relax, mingle and watch your children dive headfirst into the magical worlds only books reveal. As a ...

Stories Bookshop + Storytelling Lab
The proliferation of chain stores in New York often means fewer and fewer of the mom-and-pop stores that give neighborhoods so much of their character and heart. In the past year alone, our neighborhood lost one independent bookshop to rising rent and taxes, and another downsized to a much smaller space to avoid an anticipated ...

Boekhandel Van Rossum Bookstore
There is something that is always extra special about entering a nice bookstore -- the smell of new books, the inspiring and sweet displays, being able to take the time to flick through books that you might not otherwise come across. It's an experience in itself -- and especially nice when you can share it ...

The Alligator's Mouth
Tucked away on Church Court in Richmond The Alligator’s Mouth is a magical place for young book lovers. It’s a space where children’s imagination is fed and where the array of books is so inviting to the young reader. The name is inspired by a Lemony Snicket quote: 'A book is like an alligator's mouth ...

Books of Wonder - a children's bookstore
As convenient as Amazon and other similar websites can be, leisurely browsing a good bookstore is a thrill all its own. Given how prominently children's books feature in the rhythm of my days since my daughter's birth, having the opportunity to refresh and supplement our growing library is one I take advantage of whenever possible. Books of Wonder, ...

Favorite children's bookstore -- Scholastic Store
I absolutely love hanging out in bookstores and the smaller the specialty bookstore, the better. I spend a lot of time at Scholastic and it is always a go-to destination when I am in Soho with the kids. It’s a huge space that offers a little something for everyone from birth through the angst ridden ...

‘How to be More Paddington : A Book of Kindness’ by Michael Bond features some of Paddington’s most inspiring, funny quotes which accompany the beautiful illustrations by the original Paddington illustrator, Peggy Fortnum. It’s a book filled with nostalgia and teaches children to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ just like Paddington does. How does your garden grow? Spring provides the perfect opportunity to embrace growing both flowers and vegetables with children. Whether you have a garden, window box space or a small ledge inside, children can learn so much from the experience of growing something themselves. It can really demonstrate to them exactly how the process of photosynthesis works as well as help with learning the cycle of how a little seed can flourish and then be used to create something delicious! Emma tells us how wonderful it is to grow ! “We love growing our own tomatoes and then enjoying tasty bruschettas and rich tomato sauces for both pasta and pizza. It is remarkably simple and the children absolutely love the process of watching the seeds grow. It also teaches them patience (whilst waiting for the tomatoes to grow), resilience (when things do not go quite as planned) and of course helps with embracing all nature has to offer.” Link in bio for her best tips. @the_flourisher_ #babyccinokids #babyccinoeats

Start collecting and pressing Spring flowers as you go on walks and little wanders. A collection can make the most special monogrammed letter. It’s a simple task and a satisfying project and it will mean so much to the grandparent, mother, sister, friend, spouse, or newborn baby that receives it. Great for birthdays, christenings, showers, anniversaries, and really any celebration of a loved one! See this post from @laraoflondon! Link in bio. #babyccinokids #banyccinocrafts
