La Coqueta, a new collection and a new London shop!!
We have been working with La Coqueta since they first opened their shop in the leafy neighbourhood of London's Hampstead. I remember the day that Courtney and I visited that darling little store together. It was all so beautiful, and so tastefully decorated! There were so many surprisingly creative and fun details. I still remember ...

A wonderful selection of baby gifts from Un Elefantino a Pois
I am still trying to figure out what to wear and how to dress the kids in Australian 'winter time'. While the nights and mornings can be chilly, by midday we are shedding the woollen layers we've put on over our summery clothes. It seems I always have a bonnet, jumper and booties in my ...

Wiksten Patterns
I absolutely love to sew. I love the process itself and also the fact I have created something for my children. I wish and sometimes even dare to dream about times I’ll have just a few more hours all to myself so I can do it more. In the meantime I’m pilling up all the ...

Five questions with Julie Kohlhoff from macarons
I remember being introduced to macarons 5 years ago when they first presented their collection at the local children's fashion fair here in Amsterdam. Julie and Veit, joined by their baby girl and Veit's mother, were presenting a different, interesting collection that really stood out -- with amazing double-knit fabrics they had developed themselves and intriguing, cool ...

Sissonne, a beautiful new brand from Portugal
During Sara's horse riding class and Pim's tennis class on Monday afternoons, I always have an hour to spend with my littler two -- and if the weather is nice we like to hang out at the terrace of the manege, which is located in the middle of the forest south of Amsterdam. We drink hot chocolate, throw ...

Sweet baby Orla (in cosy knits from Nieva)
Remember I posted about our new Babyccino baby? Team member Helen gave birth to Orla 3 months ago, and she's just the most adorable baby. Helen brought her over the other day (we Babyccino girls tend to work with our babies in tow), and I had so much fun with that little lady. And, I'm proud to say that ...

The beautiful new La Coqueta collections...
Sweet Celia of La Coqueta just sent over some shots of her beautiful new collection, and despite the fact that I'm not quite ready to wave summer goodbye, these stunning shots still made me secretly look forward to crackling fires, hot chocolate in big mugs, stews on the stove, and long wintery walks wrapped up ...

Earlier this week, a successful beauty blogger in the Netherlands, Nikkie de Jager @nikkietutorials publicly announced that she is transgender. A very brave thing to do and was incredibly impressed by her story and the way she chose to share it. If you haven’t seen it yet, there is a lot to learn from Nikkie’s coming out video on youtube. It is an inspiring message from a strong roll model, addressing young people who feel insecure, misunderstood or simply not in the right place. It is about acceptance, respect, hearing and understanding each other, about writing your own story, about the power of being yourself — whoever you are and whatever you are. It is also about the importance of supportive parenting. Nikkie shares that she is intensely grateful for her mother, who always saw and heard, listened and understood, respected and supported her in her choices and in her transition. We have always tried to be straightforward in discussing sex and reproduction with our children, and open about the idea that heterosexuality is just one shade of a wider spectrum of diversity. Thanks for the new blog post @estherbabyccino ... what are your thoughts? Comment below and link is in bio. #babyccinokids #thursdaythoughts
