Happy Earth Day! Some fun family activities to mark the day.
Tomorrow is Earth Day and this year's theme is 'Restore Our Earth'.  Earth Day was first held in 1970 in the US and has now grown to international dimensions with events across the globe. It provides a way for us all to demonstrate support for environmental protection, and is the perfect opportunity to help educate ...

After school activities: when is it too much?
After school activities can be great for keeping your kids active and entertained beyond the school day. They can encourage your children to hone skills they might not necessarily have the chance to practice in school, and it can be a wonderful opportunity for kids to make new friends outside of their classroom. However, having ...

Our Advent Activity Calendar
I loved Esther’s post last year about an Advent Activity Calendar! We have done a similar idea for a few years now (unfortunately not so beautifully designed!). A weekend in London with a nine-year-old
To celebrate Coco’s ninth birthday I had promised her a trip to London, just her and me, for a little weekend. Considering her birthday was last December and we are now in October, it was high time I made good on my promise and so we jumped on the train and away we went ...

Kid Libs, Mad Libs for kids
My kids discovered Mad Libs for the first time this holiday and now I'm wondering what took me so long to introduce them! The giggles coming from the kids' table are so, so cute. Not to mention, they now know the difference between a verb and an adverb, a noun and a plural noun. The ...

Yoga Pretzels
My kids have been greatly enjoying the Yoga Pretzels cards they got from their babysitter for Christmas. It's so cute to see them bend in all sorts of curves, or trying to keep their balance. There are 50 cards, each of them giving a suggestion for a pose. There are, for instance, balance poses, stretch ...

Pinatas
Seriously, is there anything better in the world than beating on a massive ball with a stick and, when you finally smash it open, being showered in bonbons? It's no wonder kids go crazy for piñatas. Piñatas had not really crossed my radar until I went on holiday to Mexico last year. But now we can't ...

The Hanover Gate playground, located on the west side of Regents Park, has just recently been renovated and now includes two different play areas: a traditional playground for younger children and a new timber tree-house section for older, more adventurous kids. It's also a great little spot to spend a sunny afternoon because it's right ...
