Love Heart Chain -- you just need paper and a stapler!
This is a Valentine's Day craft at its finest -- simple, sweet, and fun. It requires only strips of paper and a stapler and can quickly be made. You can choose to make a really long paper chain, and hang it across the room. Or hang it so it falls vertically. But you can make ...

This is a mega crafting moment. Marvellous marbleised paper, made with only two ingredients, both of which are non-toxic and kid-friendly. This is the perfect Valentine's day craft -- and we made both cards and bunting with it, using the positive and negative shapes. So it is a zero waste craft project (if that is ...

Valentines Love Heart Bunting with Potato Printing
There is lots of love in the air, with Valentine's Day here, so I wanted to create a craft with simple items we had on hand. Naturally, a classic potato print project came to mind. After all aren't potato prints a right of passage? This craft entertained my nearly two year old and almost five ...

Last Minute Valentine's DIY: Heart Shaped Seed Paper and Origami Envelope
I don’t give a lot on Valentine’s Day, usually. But I try to create something sweet for my husband and the kids just so they know it exists. Does this even make any sense? :) So this year I decided to craft a last minute Valentine's DIY: tiny seed paper hearts and easy envelopes to ...

My Funny Valentines -- Cute last-minute Valentine card idea!
These are the easiest (and super last-minute friendly) Valentine cards. Very handmade, perhaps even a bit homespun, which I think adds a bit of character... quite endearing! In addition they are funny and fast to make! You can use collage materials and a bit of clever wording, and presto! We used pieces of wrapping paper ...

Last-minute (paper) Valentine Flowers!
Can you believe it that it’s Valentine’s already? What kind of treats are you preparing for your loved ones? I’m so so bad with this, or any other holiday as a matter of fact. But one of my new year's resolutions is to start acknowledging and celebrating them more. Another one is to learn ...

Easy craft project: Valentine Treasure Boxes
Hello!! The end of last year proved absolutely crazy between work, new hires, a studio move, sick kids, and the usual holiday madness! As I looked back on 2016 however, I realized that most of my favorite memories revolved around eating (ha) or making stuff with the kids. So, as we kick off 2017 -- yes, ...

Heartcatcher DIY
As soon as the new year has come and gone, I start to get really excited for Valentine’s Day. It’s funny: I appreciate V-Day much more now that I’m married with four kids than I ever did when it was all about romance. Hot dates and jewelry be damned, I’ll take a good excuse to ...

Valentines craft -- love birds
Happy Valentines Day! Our kids woke us up with the sweetest handmade Valentines cards this morning... But I had nothing prepared! So I quickly made these 'lovebirds', by folding a piece of paper in half and cutting it in a heart shape. A piece of masking tape keeps it closed and forms the beak. Inside ...

Easy Valentine's Day cards
I sat down with the kids last week and we made the easiest Valentine's Day cards. (Things have to be easy these days because I'm either carrying around a baby in the sling or feeding her with one hand and trying to multitask with the other!) Anyway, I thought I would share them in case ...

If you have a sewing machine, this Valentines decoration is easily made, and my kids really liked the project! Just potato-stamp hearts on paper; I used plain brown craft paper but you can use any sort really, even newspaper.  No need to be perfect here, my 2-year-old had quite some production going.  (If you stop ...

Heart-shaped paper clips
The blogosphere is full of Valentine's day craft projects... they are really everywhere! This one I found on How about orange... sent me back in time, more than 20 years! Heart cards
Besides a few anonymous cards that were sent between secret lovers (mostly between smitten teenagers, to be specific), we don't have an actual Valentines tradition here in the Netherlands. The last 15 years however, it seems that Valentine's Day has become a holiday celebrating love in general instead of the more mysterious anonymous love it was ...

Make your own Valentine cards!
They won't be as sharp as the cards you buy in the shop, but I'm sure they are made with way more love! Take a thick piece of paper, about 15x21 cm or 6"x8" (if you're going to send it, it's handy to check if it fits an envelope beforehand, but they are also cute ...

Summer holidays! If you follow Esther and Emilie on Instagram, you’ll have seen a few happy photos of their two families together in France! It’s a sweet summertime tradition for them. Being on the opposite side of the world, I will admit it makes me feel extra far away and sad to miss out on these wonderful get-togethers. The kids are all growing up so quickly — I couldn’t believe how tall and grown-up Emilie’s girls have gotten. And speaking of tall — I’m pretty sure Esther now has at least two kids who are taller than I am. Like an old granny would do, I’m pretty sure I’d squeeze their cheeks and tell them all I remember holding them in my arms when they were just one day old!!! Anyway, we’re taking a couple of weeks off from blogging to allow Esther, Emilie and all of our wonderful contributors some time to enjoy a bit of summer holiday family time. We hope you’re doing the same! See you back here in a couple of weeks. Courtney xx @estherbabyccino @emiliebabyccino @courtneyadamo #babyccinokids
