WEEKEND GETAWAYS
A short family visit to medieval Nuremberg
Today I am taking you to Nuremberg, for a quick family gateway that everyone will love! Or at least, I am taking you down memory lane (like for many, travel restrictions due to the pandemic have limited our ability to travel quite a bit this year). We have always enjoyed taking a road trip. There ...

State Park Adventures + Tips for Camping with Little Ones
COVID or not, one thing that luckily hasn't changed in the past few months is our love of exploring a new trail in the mountains or an untouched beach here in North Carolina. Both options are just a few hours east and west of us. Through the State Parks here, we've learned about the Neuse ...

Hello everyone, I am thrilled to contribute an at-home travel guide to one of my all-time favourite blog Babyccino today. Courtney, Esther and I go way back, when we were perhaps on baby #2. I stopped at #3! I am Vanessa Boz, French based in London, though I like to think of the world as my oyster. ...

How to travel successfully and in style with the 'See-Ya' suitcases
We just spent six weeks of our summer travelling in the USA and had the very best time! And one of the main contributing factors to the success of the trip was being lightweight. (Ok, seeing friends, family, staying in fun places, and lots of sunshine added to the success as well...) BUT, I can ...

Tuesday Tips: Coping with Car Sickness
We often talk about our love for travel on Babyccino, which I share whole heartedly, but there is one aspect I find difficult about travelling with children, and that is car sickness. Our daughter, Beatrice, suffers from the worst car sickness, and it is both heart breaking and debilitating. For us it’s specifically cars — sometimes ...

A family travel backpack, packed with handy features! | From Lo & Sons
A good family travel backpack is the number one accessory I bring when I'm traveling with children. The possibility of having my hands free and at the same time having access to a back-up (pun intended!) of gear I might need while on-the-go, is essential to me. Successfully traveling with children, for me, is all ...

Skiing with kids, planning made easy with Powder Byrne
Skiing played a big role in my upbringing -- I was so lucky to spend one wintery week in the mountains of Austria each year. I loved this vacation -- being outside and active all day, hitting the slopes from early in the morning 'til the last lifts closed. For the past few years, Tamar ...

Team Favourites : Best 12 Summer First Aid Kit Items
Summertime grants permission to let loose, stay up later, run a bit faster, and truly embrace life outdoors without school, schedules, and routine. So if long days are spent running in meadows, hiking in mountains, or swimming at the seaside... then possible scrapes, bug bites, or bruises, are unfortunately inevitable. Because we don't want summer ...

Notabag, a foldable bag AND backpack in one!
Here in the Netherlands, like in many other countries, shops are not allowed to hand out plastic carrying bags for free. Because of this, most people will bring re-useable carrying bags when (grocery) shopping -- a great effort to reduce some of the plastic waste which we already have way too much of in our environment. The ...

The new Free-to-Grow baby carrier by Tula
Until recently, if you had asked me what my favourite baby carrier was, I would have had a 3-part answer. I would have mentioned my favourite sling for the newborn days, a baby carrier to follow, and then a separate toddler carrier for when the baby is bigger. In the twelve years I've been a parent, ...

Essential packing for a weekend with the kids (with Lo & Sons)
If you love traveling, there's also the packing to deal with beforehand. Before children, this was part of the fun for me. Today’s new post from Lara “Seek is the one and only app that our (young) children use. It started in lockdown over the Spring, as things sprung to life, and our children would ask us ‘what’s that?’ So my husband found the answer, which was for all of us to learn more from the world of amazing digital technology by using a free app (and find out more about the amazing world!). We think it is so outstanding actually and have told so many friends and family members to use it too, because it teaches them about the world and nature! I should quickly add that this is not a sponsored post! It is just a great tip I wanted to share.” And we love this thought... “You don’t have to travel far to find weird and beautiful wildlife. Your garden, local park, street tree, window box or the verge alongside a local footpath are rich ecosystems filled with species… you’ll be able to identify any living thing in your patch – plants, flowers, insects, fungi, birds and animals. It’s like having a naturalist in your pocket! When you ID a species you’ll be able to find out all about it, and see how common or rare it is for your area and the time of year.” More about the app in our bio link. But tell us, are you using any interesting educational apps for nature or science? ps And stay tuned for more about her holiday on a lighthouse island in @laraoflondon ‘s post next week! #babyccinokids #babyccinotips #babyccinotravels #seek

Autumn Equinox — a note from Esther... “I was talking to Lara earlier today, and she was reminding me of the start of Autumn happening today. Autumn! Today, the bright daylight hours and the dark nightly hours are of equal length. From now on, the days will get shorter, the nights will get longer… until the longest night, Winter Solstice (taking place on December 21st) will mark the beginning of the Winter season. Today is Autumn Equinox: the night and the day are in perfect balance. It marks the moment of the sun entering Libra (my star sign!), bringing harmony and stability, and which is ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty. All good things, and definitely things we need in these uncertain, difficult and turbulent times. Autumn is when the air starts to feel crisper and smell muddier, when the colours of nature are intensifying before they change colour, when the light is low and magical, when the days get wetter and the weather gets windier. It is the time to harvest apples and nuts and pumpkins, to make pies and soups and stews and to cosy up the house with rugs, pillows and blankets. Fall is so cosy! To celebrate this First Day of Autumn, I thought it would be nice to make a list of all the little things, family traditions and crafts we love doing in fall. Most we have posted about before, but there are some new ideas and things I want to try as well. Going through old posts and getting this list together has been so inspiring — yes, we are entering the darker and colder months, but there is so much to do and make, and many of these activities are super simple and made with whatever nature supplies us with. Fall truly is fabulous!” xx Esther Enjoy @estherbabyccino fifteen favourite fall activities to get inspired, link in bio. #babyccinokids #babyccinotips #autumnequinox @maudfontein 🧡
