A tassel toothpick, or: a tooth fairy wand :)
Ever since my first daughter Tila lost her first tooth I do something silly when she leaves her tooth for the 'tooth fairy'. In Slovenia, where my husband and I come from, we have a tooth mouse instead of a fairy. So every time Tila leaves her tooth under her pillow I replace it with ...

A great summer pastime is strolling on the beach and collecting shells, stones, and seagrass. But after a month last summer of filling buckets and pockets, the sweet little Irish cottage we were staying in was bursting at the seams with our beach treasures. We had to either secretly save the best and transport the ...

A bee-themed 5th birthday tea party
Our little Queen Bee, Beatrice, just turned five and we had a very small party in our little hive to celebrate. Dyeing, Hiding, and Decorating -- a day of Easter Egg Fun

A multiplication chatterbox -- a simple, fun and educational craft
Ava is now seven and this is the year she learns the multiplication tables at school. We already have the chart on the toilet door (which I think must be a universal trick), but the other day she came home with a 'multiplication chatterbox'. You know, that paper folding game we played as a kid? ...

Do you have stick obsessed children? Esther celebrated these collected treasures and created a whole birthday party around the theme! And we love this quote from @guardian : ‘And thus, sticks. For I have learned that boys like, nay love, sticks. But a stick to a boy is far, far more than an inanimate object. A stick is a toy, a weapon, a friend and a foe. A stick is adventure, possibilities, destruction and danger. A stick is, in the right time and place – or even better, in the wrong – everything.’ More in the link! #babyccinokids #babyccinocrafts #stickcollector #sticks

There are more than a million words in the English language. We remember the most common term and associate more complex or less frequent words with that. So the clever people from @mrswordsmithofficial have developed cards linking word groups together. To make this memorable to children, they developed learning tools designed by comic book illustrators. Super fun and memorable, the designs are instantly associated to the word. So clever!
