Your new favourite, easy peasy, allergy-friendly chocolate fudge cake
For our first playdate since lockdown has eased in the UK, I decided to bake a little chocolate cake with Joey to celebrate. I fancied a delicious, light, fudgy chocolate sponge cake, that was easy to rustle up with a 3-year-old's help, and that everyone could enjoy. The tricky thing was working around the dietary requirements ...

3 Healthier Ways to Decorate Birthday Cakes
I have a two-year-old, and she has a keen nose for sugar...being that I constantly smell of the stuff, that is unavoidable! However, I try to be a tiny little bit creative when decorating cakes for her birthday, using edible decorations that are attractive, interesting taste-wise, but that aren't full of refined sugar, and I ...

Bee’s fruity protein “cake” balls, delicious and easy to make at home!
My 2-year-old girl is really into those great, snack-sized fruit and nut protein bars and balls. You know the ones that are full of nuts, fruits and natural ingredients? But invariably wrapped in single-use, non-biodegradable plastic? And factory made? If you, like me, are trying to reduce the amount of plastic I use, here is ...

It’s World Mental Health Week this week, which is a wonderful opportunity to talk about our children’s mental health and how best to support our kids through their emotional ups and downs. In the research @courtneyadamo did on adolescence for her Tweens & Teens e-course, @intheloop.teens she learned that it is normal for mental health and self-esteem to plummet at the onset of adolescence and puberty. Adolescence is a huge developmental period where children’s brains are being reconstructed, their emotions are supercharged, their bodies are changing and they are charting a path away from their parents, leaving behind the comforts and familiarity of childhood. If you think about it, it would be strange if our tweens and teens didn’t feel confused, anxious and self-critical at some stage in this developmental period. These emotional ups and downs are completely normal. Despite knowing this, it can still be incredibly difficult to see our children sad, anxious or angry. Sometimes their big emotions can make us uncomfortable or want to retreat. So what exactly should we do when we see our children struggling? Link in bio for some recommendations Courtney’s gathered from the research she’s done… #worldmentalhealth
