PARENTING

My new e-course on Tweens & Teens: Registration now open!

I’m really excited to share the details of my new e-course! In The Loop: Tweens & Teens is a 3-week community course to help prepare and support you through the adolescent years. It has been designed for parents and carers of children aged 8 to 18, and will bring together a community of parents who are all roughly in the same stage of their parenting journey to share and learn together.

I have learned so much in the last year of my research. I’ve read dozens of books, listened to podcasts, watched TED talks — eagerly jotting down notes and consolidating all of the facts and insights I’ve learned. I’ve also done my own interviews over the last six months and have learned heaps from these chats as well. I’ve spoken to psychologists, a nutritionist, a sex education consultant, a child development specialist, authors, mothers and other experts. It has been one of the most enlightening periods of my parenting life!

Adolescence is a time of huge development, growth and change for our young people, and understanding what’s going on for them is really the key to being able to show up for them at this time in their lives. Admittedly, I’ve spent years dreading the teenage years, and even up until recently, I saw it as a bumpy period we would just have to endure. However, the more I read and studied, the more I realised what a huge opportunity and honour parenting a teen is. Sure, it might not be a walk in the park, but if we can really be there for our kids in this phase, the benefits can be huge for them, and the relationship we have with our child can flourish.

Each week of the course we’ll tackle a different theme, covering off all the relevant topics within that theme (even the trickier ones!). Here’s the general outline of the course:

  • Week One: Living with Teens
  • Week Two: Changing Brains & Bodies
  • Week Three: Teens in a Digital Age

In addition to the course materials and videos, subscribers will also be given access to a private Instagram feed where we will be raising topics, sharing experiences, offering tips and sharing resources. This community element of sharing and learning is definitely one of my favourite aspects of each course I have run!

You can read more about the course on my website here. You have until July 30th to register, and the course will begin on Monday, August 2nd. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions at all.

I look forward to connecting with you soon!
