LOCAL TIPS

Tips from a local: Mylène in Saint-Cloud

With her vibrant personality, Mylène is at the head of French kids’ brand Frangin Frangine and the happy mama of Arthus (6), Jeanne (4) and Achille (15 months). She grew up in Lille and started her professional career in marketing.  Seeking more balance in her life and a greater meaning to her job, she decided to take over Frangin Frangine in March 2017, a brand whose identity and products she loved!
In Paris, she lived for five years in the 10th Arrondissement and recently moved to Saint-Cloud in the suburbs to find a more suitable lifestyle for her and her family.
1. Best date night restaurant: Père Lapin in Suresnes, it’s very close to our place, the cooking is delicious and the setting is incredible with a huge terrace for Summer nights, overviewing Paris and the Eiffel Tower. You might think you landed in the movie Ratatouille!
2. Favourite family-friendly dinner spot: La Grande Halle de la Villette, they serve delicious wood-fired pizzas. We love to eat there after a walk in the park of La Villette.
3. Cosiest local cafe (or best place to grab a take-away!): Maison Bastille for it’s delicious homemade pastries and the coziest setting.
4. Trusted children’s shop: While dreaming of opening our very own concept store at Frangin Frangine (one can dream, right?), I love going to Bonton, they have an incredible selection of knick knacks for kids, decoration, books, everything is fantastic and their color scheme very inspirational! I also love Smallable. More confidential, Dodu Dindon in the 10th is a great shop for educational toys and games run by the sweetest woman. She even keeps a big notebook to write down all gifts bought for each child so nobody gets the same twice!
5. Favourite women’s shop: By lack of time I don’t really shop in store but rather online. I wear a mix of highstreet brands like Zara or H&M where you always find something and Balzac (my biggest crushes), Celeste Paris (for the most gorgeous bodysuits) and Des Petits Hauts (jumpers like no others!).
6. Coolest local playground: Domaine de Saint Cloud, we are still discovering it and it’s amazing! It is beautiful and offers an exceptional view over Paris!
7. Favourite food shop: The farmer’s market! We are lucky enough to have the greatest farmer’s markets in France with lots of small producers and quality produce. We love to go there early on Sunday morning and have breakfast there.
8. Best shop for homewares, fun finds or special gifts: Merci, of course, always full of decoration crushes, especially within their home linen collection. I also love thrift markets and Emmaüs shops for finding that special little something, dear to the heart.
9. Local activity or museum: Parc de la Villette, our kids just love it! Especially the zipline , it gets asked for every week-end!
10. Favourite park or outdoor space: Jardin d’Acclimatation is wonderful. There are animals, lots of activities for kids and water games during the summer, everything to spend a perfect day.
Thank you so much Mylène, for taking the time and sharing your favourite spots in Paris!
