Merci Milo is a treasure trove and a true gem of a toy store tucked away on a side street next to bustling Figueroa Avenue in Highland Park, Los Angeles. Once a horse carriage stable, this converted space is now one of the most magical toy stores around. With the door just slightly slanted and no glass store front, you would think its easy to miss, but step inside on a Saturday morning at 11am and you will find the store crowded with shoppers. Owner Caroline says that her customers know about Merci Milo mostly through word of mouth.
Merci Milo is a family run business, a husband and wife team, with their daughter Milo who was their inspiration to start this business in the first place. It was while traveling in Europe that they discovered their passion for whimsical vintage and heirloom handmade toys. And they found a way to bring this back to the United States, first via an online store and now with a brick and mortar shop in Highland Park!
A beautiful horse mural is painted on the walls of Merci Milo, reminiscing of the time when this space was a horse carriage stable.
The selection of toys, books and baby essentials at Merci Milo wonderfully reflects the timelessness and handmade quality by artisans from all around the world.
Merci Milo is also one of the many wonderful Babyccino Boutiques!
