Go Ape Alexandra Palace – An Exciting Treetop Adventure for Kids and Grown Ups

If like me you’ve got kids who crave adventure and love to climb trees then check out the recently opened Go Ape Alexandra Palace.

The Tree Top Junior course is open to all children over 1m tall and adults too. Yes that’s right, if you’ve ever fancied balancing perilously on a log 30 feet up in the air, then you too can get involved! In a moment of madness that’s exactly what I decided to do. But thankfully you won’t see any photos of me pale faced, knees trembling, trying desperately hard to keep up with my daring duo.

The fun filled canopy adventure combines lots of wobbly crossings, log bridges ladders, scramble nets and to finish, an exhilarating 50m zip wire. Of all the activities this was definitely the kid’s favourite but they also expressed a real sense of achievement in conquering some of the trickier obstacles.

I was amazed at how fearlessly they attempted some of the challenging swinging crossings. And jumping straight off the towering tree top platform to the zip wire below was apparently no big deal!

In total the course lasted about an hour and we got to try out two different routes. It is much smaller than most Go Ape courses and the setting may not quite compare to some of the other countryside forest locations. But it is accessible to a much younger age range and as far as urban adventures go we give it the thumbs up. My kids are already begging to go back.

For prices and more information about booking the Tree Top Junior course at Ally Pally check out the Go Ape Website.  There is now a bigger park adventure at Alexandra Palace that has no age limit, so it’s open to all.

Glad you guys had a good time! We’re actually open from 9AM, for anyone who likes early-morning adventures. More excitingly, we’re also opening our Tree Top Adventure course (that’s the “more extensive” adult version of the course) soon – the build should be finished in the next few weeks, and we’ll be opening not too long after that.

Niddle Noddle - a charming children's shop in Crouch End
Niddle Noddle has long been a favourite London-based online shop -- with a super cute selection of toys, gifts, books and clothing for kids. For the past few years, they've participated in markets around London and have set up temporary pop-up shops in my North London neighbourhood - always with great success. So you can imagine ...
Ostuni -- Puglian Cuisine in Highgate
The leafy hilltop enclave of Highgate in North London has a lot going for it, with loads of inviting pubs, tasty organic delis, grocers, flowers stalls and even a good kids boutique --  but one thing that Highgate has been missing is a decent independent restaurant. You see Highgate, despite it's unique village-y feel, has ...
Bear + Wolf -- a family-friendly cafe in Tufnell Park
If only there had been a cafe like Bear and Wolf around the corner when my two were younger. I don't think I can remember a single coffee date back then that didn't end with a lukewarm beverage and a cranky toddler tugging at my hair. Thankfully now more and more cafes in London are ...
Ruby Violet, handmade organic ice cream
A new ice cream parlour has opened up (in my neighbourhood! hooray!), and the ice cream really is the best in town. Ruby Violet is located on an up and coming street in Tufnell Park (next door to eenymeeny and a whole host of cute new cafes and shops). This charming little ice cream shop, with its tiled ...
