A few months ago, here in a cute shop in my little town, I discovered the beautiful, natural wooden blocks set by Polish company Wooden Story. These blocks, like all of the wooden toys by Wooden Story, are hand made in the Beskidy Mountains of Poland from environmentally sourced wood. Beeswax and botanical oils give the toys a soft, polished finish — just holding them in your hands, you can feel the love and attention they received whilst being made.
I ended up buying Marlow a blocks set for Christmas, and have since picked up a few of the other wooden stacking toys as gifts for other kids as well as for our own home. I am impressed with everything I’ve seen in their collection of toys — our basket of wooden blocks has become one of the most played with item in our house! Marlow must make at least ten different ‘unicorn castles’ a day, each one more detailed than the next. And if she’s not guarding the blocks closely enough, the boys have been known to steal the basket into their room to build their own towers.
After a bit of research, I’ve learned that Wooden Story is a family-owned company started by ‘Grandpa Borowy’ back in 1969. They set out to create wooden toys for kids to connect children to nature, to encourage happiness and play, and to honour the natural environment where they live. What a wonderful company to support!

We love Wooden Story – so beautifully made! Your new home is looking so wonderful Courtney! Airy and open but cosy at the same time! An amazing feat considering your impending delivery and four children! I seem to struggle with just the two! May I ask where your horse picture is from please? It is stunning. Wishing you all the very best for baby #5! 💕
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your sweet comment. The horse print is from Pampa: http://www.pampa.com.au
It was an early birthday present. I am SO in love with it, I can’t stop staring at it.
xx
We love Wooden Story as well!! Oscar got the rainbow stacker and the shape sorter box for Christmas and I bought him a teether earlier. I have my eye on the shape puzzle board and the natural wood stacking toy for when he’s a little older! The wooden blocks will most certainly be on our wish list soon enough too! 😉 xx
Beautiful brand! (I still have my shape sorter box from when I was a child! One of the best baby gifts ever.) xxx
Beautiful looking toys. And this house!!! Courtney I hope that we will be lucky enough to see a house tour when the time is right!
We love our Wooden Story toys, too! Aren’t they a real pleasure to hold?
Your new house is beautiful! I love your style. That little desk! I wonder if your kids clean their stuff? Because mind usually don’t… But that might be my fault. 🙂
All the best for you and your loved ones during these exciting times, waiting for the arrival of your fifth baby. I think it’s a girl by the way. 😉
xx, Kosima
These are gorgeous, and just what I’ve been looking for. I went to order the 30pc set, and the shopping to Canada was 55 euro!!!! The block set was only 30euro. I imagine shipping to Byron Bay was pricey too. I wish these gorgeous shops offered better shipping options….
Hi Kadria, there are a few stockists in the US who will ship to Canada for a few dollars. You could try Over The Ocean, I’ve seen a lot of Wooden Story toys on their website. Hope that’s helpful!
Thanks Lauren, but all their blocks are sold out!!!!
Dear Kadria,
we are so sorry about the shipping rates to Canada, unfortunately it is not up to us. 🙁
There’s a few boutiques in Canada that offer our products.

Hello Courtney! Congratulations on the birth of your baby and your beautiful family. Could you tell me which shop you bought the tables and rug? A greeting from Spain!
Thanks so much for your sweet comment. The rug is from Armadillo & Co. — they make beautiful, natural rugs: https://armadillo-co.com. We bought the nesting tables from a little shop in our town. Unfortunately, they don’t have an online shop, so I can’t share the link.

Thank you very much for your kindness and quick response 🙂 Have a fun and good day!
I love these – any idea where I can purchase from within Australia?
Hello Courtney, many many congratulations on the birth of your beautiful son. I’d be grateful to know the maker of the spinning tops on your nesting tables. It would be a lovely birthday gift for our little one. Many thanks!
Hi Laleh,
Thanks for your sweet comment.
The tops are by Mader. Here is a previous blog post about them: http://babyccinokids.com/blog/2012/01/24/mader-spinning-tops/
Hope this helps. Those tops are a huge hit in our family. And happy birthday to your little one. x

Hello, love your beautiful home. Can you say what size basket you have for your blocks and how many blocks. Love this so much x
Hello,
Thanks for your sweet comment.
I have two sets of the wooden blocks in the basket. Not sure what sized basket – normal sized I guess? x
Do you mind saying what size your sea grass basket is, and how many blocks you recommend… love this, thank you
Beautiful toys! Is that pentagon shaped tray shape toy from Wooden Story as well? I can’t find it on their website.
The wooden puzzle is from Grimm’s : https://www.grimms.eu/en/products/ We love the wooden toys from there as well! x
