This cute little cafe/restaurant is one of my favourite crowd get aways. Although it is right in the middle of the city just off the Rambla de Catalunya, Cafe Cosmo is on a quiet pedestrian street with trees on both sides, and a garden at the end of the walk. Although not a Spanish eatery, this place benefits of having the comfort  afternoon snacks like a killer carrot cake or chocolate chip cookies, but also having salads sandwiches  quesadillas, and fantastic fresh juices.

The food is served quite quickly, but it is comforting to know that while you wait for you food whilst sitting at the little terrace the kids can have a little run around or play with a ball on the street just in front.

Only a few minutes walk away from the Rambla de Catalunya, here you tend to find a quiet and tranquil atmosphere despite being a trendy place. Large enough for prams and childrens scooters, you will be able to take a seat without worrying about parking your pram far from your side.

Cosmo is also used as a contemporary gallery, so you will often find interesting pieces on the walls mostly very colourful so can be fun for the kids to have a look around before you go.

[…] Cosmo is a sweet cafe/restaurant with excellent juices and bakery, my favourites being the chocolate chip cookie, and the beetroot juice although  they occasionally have some danish cinnamon rolls which are a piece of heaven. Read more about cosmo and see some photos here. […]

Splendom Suites
Perfectly located in the Eixaple district of Barcelona is this all encompassing family aparthotel called Splendom Suites. Although the interiors are not the type I'd pick for my home, it still has a homely feel to it, and most importantly was set up by an avid traveler family. Meaning they know how to organise things to ...
El Nacional
Behind every building facade and every shop front there is a story. Not all are worth mentioning, but at the end of a narrow little street, between the grand shops of Paseo de Gracia, is a special space with a story definitely worth telling; it's one of evolving architecture and the preservation of a ...
Shon Mott, beautiful clothing for us mamas!
As parents we often spend time looking for nice things for our kids, and forget to pamper ourselves. But in a shop like Shon Mott where they take so much care in selecting their materials, you might be spoiling yourself, but I can guarantee your kids won't complain when you wrap them up in your new ...
Casa Mathilda, a charming bed & breakfast
Only a ten minute walk from Gaudis Casa Batlló, and a 15-minute walk from La Sagrada Familia, finding this little bed & breakfast has been such a fantastic surprise. Having only 14 rooms, Casa Mathilda has a modern but rustic spaces whist still keeping the catalan architectural roots, and many of the original features, like ...
