Beautiful, handcrafted products from Indego Africa

handmade products from indego africa

Indego Africa is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering and uplifting artisan women in Africa through employment opportunities and education. They work with 25 groups of more than 1,000 women in Rwanda and Ghana to sell products that are designed in NYC and handmade in Africa – combing traditional techniques, local materials and amazing artisanal skills. They’re on a mission to lift these artisan women and their families out of poverty by providing educational programs so they can become empowered businesswomen on their own.

Indego Africa recently got in touch to introduce us to their beautiful collection of handmade homewares and accessories, and it’s a business we are so happy to shed some light on. Everything on their website is so beautiful (I want every single thing!), and all proceeds from the product sales go back into providing educational programs for the women who handcraft the products. It’s a beautiful, circular business with a wonderful mission! And honestly – isn’t there always room for one more basket in the house? I can’t get enough.
