Navigating a sprawling, fast paced city like London with hungry bellies is never fun. Whether you want to grab something to take-away (to eat at home or for a picnic in the park) or you want to sit down and have a quick meal, here’s a selection of our favourite restaurants and cafes for a quick and easy bite:

  • Ottolenghi Deli –  Notting Hill, Islington and Spitalfields. Perfect for a casual lunch or take away, choose from a selection of hot and cold dishes from the deli and some of the best cakes in town. Expect delicious fresh ingredients brought together with the typical Ottolenghi flair.
  • Daylesford Organic Farmshop and Cafe – Notting Hill, Marylebone and Pimlico. Seasonal, organic produce delivered daily from the famous Daylesford Farms. With an onsite butcher, bakery and impressive grocery range it’s perfect for take away, picnics or a weekly shop. You can also try some of their freshly prepared seasonal dishes in the Organic Cafe.
  • Melrose & Morgan – Primrose Hill and Hampstead. This grocer come deli offers a range of delicious produce and high quality, hand prepared seasonal food to take away or eat in. The perfect pit stop for picnics, we love their quiches, salads and cookies.
  • Lure Fish Kitchen – Dartmouth Park. Fish and Chips but not as you know it. Offering beautifully cooked traditional fish and chips or equally delicious alternatives such as Chilli and Lemongrass marinated Bream, Steamed Mussels and cornish squid. All the fish is sustainable, seasonal and responsibly sourced.
  • Baker & Spice – Chelsea, Belgravia and Maida Vale. Everything here is made fresh from scratch on a daily basis. You can enjoy quick meals in the cafe or pick up delicious salads to take away as well as a whole mouth-watering selection of breads, cakes and pastries.
  • Carluccio’s chain of restaurants offer simple, authentic, and high quality Italian food at a reasonable price (children’s menu and activity packs for kids too!).
  • Franco Manca – What started as a stand alone restaurant in Brixton Market with a loyal following has now spread to all corners of the capital. Their delicious sourdough pizzas are heralded by some as the best pizzas in London.
  • Busaba Eathai – With lots of locations all over London, you really can’t go wrong with this popular chain of restaurants by Alan Yau. Great quality, reasonably priced, tasty Thai food, combined with excellent fast service and a vibrant atmosphere. Perfect for a long leisurely lunch or a quick snack.
  • Comptoir Libanais – Marylebone, Chelsea, South Kensington and Liverpool Street. This vibrant and bustling Lebanese canteen offers casual dining at its best. The food is bursting with rich middle eastern flavours. Choose from hot and cold mezze, wraps, salads and and tagines. Our children love the traditional fruit flavoured lemonades.
  • Dirty Burger and Chicken Shop – Kentish Town and Whitechapel Mouth watering burgers and the thickest, creamiest milkshakes in town. Served in the coolest of burger shacks. Messy but so worth it. Downstairs the equally fun Chicken shop serves juicy rotisserie style chicken, fries and salads. Make sure you leave room for a slice of their incredible homemade apple pie.
  • Princi – Soho Fast Italian food in the chicest of communal, canteen style restaurants. Wood fired pizzas, foccacias and the most enticing array of cakes and pastries as far as the eye can see.
