My favourite sunsreen — Aesop’s Protective Body Lotion SPF50

aesop-online-body-protective-body-lotion-spf50-150ml-c

I have applied sunscreen every day for the past five months. It’s become a normal part of my morning routine: brush teeth, wash face, apply sunscreen. The sun is so harsh here in New Zealand that sunscreen is necessary even on cloudy days! I picked up this Aesop protective body lotion last summer before leaving London and it’s one of my favourite beauty discoveries. I love the smell of it and love that it’s lightweight, non-greasy and easy to apply. Even my husband has started using my pump, preferring it to anything else we have. I’m going to need to pick up a new bottle when we’re in Australia next month — where Aesop was created!

I’m so curious to know….do you wear this just on your face or all over? That’s wonderful it’s lasted so long! And what about your little ones? What sunscreen do you prefer for them?! Thank you for the recommendation!

Hi Laura,
I apply it to my face every day, without skipping. I will apply it to my neck and shoulders and arms if it’s a sunny day and I know we’ll be outside for a while. If it’s a beach day, I’ll use all over my body.
For the kids…. my bigger ones (especially the surfers!) need a serious zinc-type on their face because they’re out for so long in the water. For Marlow I use a rolling one from Sun Sense: http://www.sunsense.co.uk/sunsense-range.aspx that we picked up in the UK before our trip. I have a ‘toddler milk’ one for Marlow and a kids one for the others. I like the rolling version because it’s easy to apply. Hope that helps! xx

What is the scent like? I picked up the Aesop facial scrub upon the babyccino recommendation not long ago and find the scent to be really terrible! I was so surprised! I liked the results of the scrub but sort of have to force myself to use it because of the scent!

Oh no! I’m so sorry you don’t like the scent of the facial exfoliant paste. I don’t mind it at all.
The Aesop sunscreen has a lavender-y minty type of smell. We all love it – even the kids! x
