I am normally relatively easygoing regarding security equipment for kids, but even I admit that my daughters wobbling down the wintery streets of Paris, with the certifiably insane Parisian drivers, fills me with dread. My latest Ikea discovery are these fab little safety vests for kids: they cost next to nothing and makes the kids so much more visible!
By the way, Paris has become so much more bicycle-friendly in the last few years, thanks to the success of the Velib’. There are now a ton of bike paths separated from the main roads all over the city, making it, against all odds, a good city to cycle around in!

Michael (AKA ‘safety dad’) would be so proud of you!!! xxx
Guess who i thought of when I was buying them!
My son LOVES this jacket, he wears it everywhere and refuses to take it off, best money I’ve ever spent!
This will also be a great addition to dress up time with my toddler, cool!
I am currently in ikea standing in the queue to pay and I already had these in my trolley! What a coincidence to read this now!
That’s hilarious!
Having biked loads as an adult in Paris, I have yet to take the step to add a child to my bike. I found that every ride I used to take had a dangerous moment. Drivers are all about accelerating to stop abruptly, and simply ignore you. The worst are scooters, followed by buses and cars. You must be braver than I!
No not brave at all. I just happen to live close to a lot of streets which have either pavements large enough to have a child cycle on them (I think they are allowed to do that up to 8 years old) or have bike paths that are totally separated by from the road…
