Something old, something new…

October 10, 2012

The bed for baby is ready! Set up in our bedroom, waiting, waiting… The one very special thing about this little bed is the sheet that was embroidered by my late grandmother in the 1940s of last century, for the birth of my mother (her oldest daughter). It’s 70 years old! I love that little sheet.

I also like Pablo, the Oeuf pigeon on the nightstand, guarding the crib. Now that everything is ready, I’m starting to wonder — when is this little baby going to announce himself?

There is something so special about the lead up to a baby’s birth. The baby bed look so cute! Such a treasure to have that beautiful sheet too… I love stuff like that. Good luck!

What a super cute little bed! How far along are you in the pregnancy? I hated the waiting part, unfortunately, both my boys were born at 42 weeks.
By the way, did you order that pigeon from the oeuf website? I thought they didn’t sent it to the Netherlands, but I desperately want it.

Hi Margot — I contacted them directly… Maybe you could do the same? Or, maybe, you could contact Joke from Knuffels a la Carte (https://babyccinokids.com/shop/view/knuffelsalacarte.html) — she carries Oeuf and could maybe order it for you? Good luck!! I love that DUIF! xxx

Gorgeous Esther! I love the continuity… And the pigeon is just the ticket for a nursery I’m finishing off at the moment. Good luck with all x

Hi Sara, thank you! I got it from my friend Miriam who was done with having babies, and added the stick with the drapes myself. I think Miriam got the bed here: http://www.prenatal.nl/shop/slapen-Wiegen/Prenatal-Hoge-wieg-mix-%26-match-34712.htm?startValue=9&rangeValue=&prevVisit=true&id=34712 xxx

I love your little baby cot. And your grandmother’s bed sheet. And the wall colour behind your bed. And that little pigeon! Ooohh… it all looks so nice and cosy and ready for baby. (Hopefully it will inspire me to do the same. I need the nesting urge to kick in so I can start preparing!) xxx

Love this little cot! So sweet that you can use the bed sheet that’s been passed down.
