Cashmere Balaclavas from Nilka

I had no idea that these cosy little hats had an official name. Did you? They’re called balaclavas… and the place to find the most exquisite cashmere balaclavas in a wide range of colours is a lovely new site called Nilka.

The balaclavas are knitted and hand finished in the finest Scottish cashmere, making them cosy and soft. You can opt for the classic look in a variety of colours… or my favourite, the one with teddy bear ears. What I like about them is that they cover the ears and the neck, and you don’t have to worry about your child’s hat falling off or getting lost. Balaclava might be my new favourite word this winter…

xx Courtney

PS – That’s my daughter, Ivy, in the top photo looking awfully pleased with her new teddy bear hat!

I love the hat, but i was wondering where you got your daughters duffle coat from, i have been looking for a navy duffle for my 2 year old daughter for ages at the moment she is having to wear her big brothers elias and grace navy cord coat.

Hi Lily,
Thanks for your comment.
The duffle coat is a hand-me-down from her oldest brother. She’s the third one to wear it! I got it in NYC from a cool store called Fith :
Maybe you could call them for something similar?

Hope that helps!

Lily, we found a vintage toddler duffel in Australia that was originally from Mothercare – don’t know if they still do it, or with the same eye to quality (it’s several decades old). Also was just poking about in the Babyccino shop, and this retailer in France has some lovely duffels. Don’t know if it’s helpful, but worth a look. Fx

Thanks for the help with the duffle coat, i actually found a really nice one in Zara, it’s from the boys section but she will never know and it’s lovely, i bought her a pink hat and mittens to go with it from Brora and she looks so sweet. Here is the link for the duffle, good price too we bought the navy.
