Marie de Paris

July 16, 2010

Estelle from Nordinary recently introduced me this lovely series of books from Paris-based editing house, ABC Melody.

The books feature children in cities all over the world, and they are really well done. You have Marie à Paris, Eva à Stockholm, Charlie from London and lots more. They beautifully describe each child’s life: what they do during the day, eat for breakfast, how they live and how they spend their free time. Marie de Paris is my daughter’s favourite book at the moment as she totally identifies with this little girl and the life she leads. The book captures the daily life of a little Parisian perfectly. The other books in the series are great too and really make kids realize how children in other cities live, perfect for multi-cultural children.

And the final extra that makes these books stand out — on the website you can find the audio guides that accompany the books (in the national language). What a great way for your children listen to lots of different languages and get a feel for them.

Yes, please tell — are they written in English (you know how my French is)?!

Hi, sorry I have not gotten back to you before, I have been away on a little holiday. Also apologies for not clarifying the language issue in my post: Marie de Paris, Eva de Stockholm and Paolo from Rome are currently only being published in French. But Fiona from Scotland, Lily from New York, Charlie from London, and Max from Sydney are in English

I adore NORDINARY. She is so nice. One of my first posts was about her store since almost all her things are organic cotton plus scandinavian design which is fun for kids!
And your web site is fantastic!
