Back in the Spring, during a shopping trip to Antwerp with Esther, we discovered the most darling Belgian kids’ brand… Max & Lola is the brainchild of designer Kaatje Sandra, who’s motto is “the perfect imperfection”. She designs the most beautiful and unique clothes for babies, toddlers and juniors (up to 18), playing with colors, textures and shapes to create the most unexpected designs.

I went to Antwerp hoping to find some cute, summery clothes for my boys, and with one single stop at Kids on the Docks my shopping was complete. I walked away with several pairs of the most darling Max & Lola shorts (which my boys have lived in all summer long)! What I like about them is that they almost look a bit old-fashioned, but modern at the same time, and the quality is in a league of its own.

Since discovering Max & Lola in Antwerp, I’ve tried to find an on-line shop that sells it, but have had no luck. Kaatje Sandra prides herself on being an ‘underground’ label, selling only to the most exclusive shops. Recently, however, Little Fashion Gallery, has added Max & Lola to their already impressive list of designers. They have a few pieces in their girls’ section that are really cute (I am in LOVE with the mustard yellow wool gaiters!), but sadly nothing for boys…
Maybe, Esther, we need to schedule another trip to Antwerp??
