Yogurt Cake

My friends think I am going crazy! I cannot stop baking, cleaning and sewing. It might be hormones (baby number 2 is turning up in the next few weeks), but whatever it is, I have decided to make use of my new found inner domestic goddess and enjoy it while it lasts. So, I bring you a recipe that is super simple to make and I have known by heart ever since I was about seven.

The beauty of it is that you don’t need any measuring item as you just use a single yogurt pot, so all of the difficulties we have been having with converting cups into ounces and ounces into grams are irrelevant!

Yogurt cake! Here is the recipe…

Yogurt Cake:

1 yogurt

2 yogurt cups of sugar

4 yogurt cups of flour

1 packet of backing powder (approx 2 teaspoons)

3/4 yogurt cups of vegetable oil

2 apples or pears or whatever you can get your hands on

Mix all the ingredients together, cut up the apple, stick the mixture and the apple into a round cake tin, bake it at around 180° for approx. 30 min until it is nice and brown and firm, and voila– the flat will smell great and your family will love you!

Hi Olivia – what a pity!
I think the beauty of this recipe is that you just use the actual little yoghurt pot (the plastic one in which the you buy the yogurt)…
I am going to make this cake this weekend I hope, I’ll let you know how it turned out!
