frenchMy childhood friend — who fled NYC long ago to live in Paris — sends us the cutest, chicest outfits every year for the girls’ birthday. I am always excited when the package arrives but always find myself equally bummed out that I can never find the brand here!  Well last week I learned that Obaibi had quietly opened a store on the upper east side, and so I made the trek the other day and practically bought the entire place out.

What I love about the clothes is not only the beautiful muted color palate but the hipper-than-hip French styling.   In addition to a bunch of great sweaters and dresses, I picked up a pair of cargo capris with a flowy top and a printed cotton wrap scarf.   The cuteness factor was off the charts!  Obaibi carries items from birth-5yrs and I am hoping that they soon open a store with the line for older kids (Okaidi).   I would say to all New York moms that it is worth the trip – the clothes are adorable, beautifully made and priced WELL WELL WELL below what you would find elsewhere.  Dress like a little French girl at Old Navy pricing.  Viva la France!

For those of you in Paris, just saw a new Obaibi and Okaidi opening less than a minute walk from the Opera building in the 9th arrondissement (next to Starbucks and Jacadi). Can’t wait to check it out and find the really cute dress you have posted a picture of.

I’m an American living in Brussels, and I love Okaidi (I didn’t know Obaibi was the 0-5 line). In fact, there are 2 or 3 Okaidi stores here in Brussels, and I shop there regularly for my children. I would definitely recommend this clothing line. It’s well designed and looks much more expensive than it actually is. And of course, during the sales it’s even less expensive!

Hello Dina, hello everyone,

I’m working for Okaidi (Headquarter). I saw the article (Thank you Dina) and all the comments, thank you all too ! We are proud that you like our brand.

I’ll try to answer most of your questions :

So, yes we will open more stores in the US this year and especially in NYC.

We think about a US online store too because french website doesn’t ship to our international customer.

We don’t have shop in the UK yet and we have 2 shops in Sidney and 1 in Melbourne for Australia.

Hi Jerome, I am French and live in Melbourne. I had never heard obaibi was here but thanks. Just wondering if you sell license for obaibi and how do you operate in Australia?
Such a shame people don’t know about it more here as I bring heaps from France for all my friends. I ll try to locate that store in Melbourne.

Hi Jerome, can the NY store ship to other areas of the US? Also, any idea when you’ll get that online store for the US?
LOVE the brand and the looks.
