Traveling with (two) kids
July 18, 2008
We’ve already mentioned before how much we love the Phil&Teds double buggy, but as a mother of two little boys, I can tell you the importance of taking it with you on holiday…
- It’s a must-have in airports when you need both your kids to sit still, or if you’re in a hurry and you don’t have time to walk at your child’s pace. (Try traveling on your own with two kids and being dropped off by a taxi to the wrong terminal at Heathrow airport while running late to begin with!!!)
- The double buggy is brilliant if both your kids still take naps. Who wants to spend any extra time in the hotel waiting for nap time to be over? Both kids can sleep, even at the same time, in the Phil&Teds!
- It’s also quite useful even if one of your kids isn’t riding in it, as it provides storage space for all your shopping!
It’s obviously not as light-weight or travel friendly as, say, the Maclaren, but if you’ve got two kids and you’re going to a city where you’ll be walking, the Phil&Teds is a life-saver!

When I’m travelling alone with two kids, I always bring the P&T!! I don’t see how else to do it! A back-pack comes in handy too, so you have your hands free.
(BTW, we don’t have this fancy new P&T, but a much older model. Still great though!)
I absolutely love Phil and Ted’s range it’s one of the few brands that have really thought about what we all have to cope with in real life.
It’s also great to see some real Phil and Ted’s bargains popping up on Ebay too.
Am glad to hear the praise, have just bought the P&T Vibe (pictured) and am looking to put it together this weekend. Have a 2-year-old and a baby due in a few weeks, and we are doing a 5 week trip to NY and San Fran over Thanksgiving/Christmas and I am definitely bringing the Vibe.
A question — how do you handle having it in airports? Can you still gate-check it and do you need to buy a special transport bag for it or anything?
Hi Jennifer – I always check mine at the gate and I don’t have a special bag for it. For the older model of the P&T you need two bagage tags, as it consists of 2 parts when folded…
Yay! Interesting.
