Very recently I wrote about how we decorated our children’s new room with a wonderful wallpaper tree from Inke Heiland. Inke’s silhouettes are made from exquisite vintage wallpaper and will instantly spruce up every kid’s room.
These birds come in a set of 2 with a bag of wallpaper glue attached, so the only thing you need is a bit of time on your hands and a cute place for the birds to go. But that shouldn’t be too difficult — they’re for instance very cute on top of a cabinet, or a curtain rail, or a light switch…
Do you think you could find a good spot for a set of birds? Great! Because Inke is very kindly offering TEN sets of handmade, vintage birds to TEN lucky readers!
Just leave your comment below by Sunday, March 14th and we’ll pick a winner at random.
Good luck!!

P.S. Colours and patterns will be chosen randomly.

I must admit I’ve never been the biggest fan of children’s jewellery… but having seen Arabelle’s beautiful children’s collection, I’m afraid I have to eat my own words! The jewellery is so sweet and so tastefully done, all handcrafted in 18ct yellow gold (or silver if you prefer). The collection is inspired by traditional childhood toys and associations. (The bracelet pictured was inspired by a traditional abacus counting game with five beads — four pearls and one gold — which slide along a gold bar.)
What really wins me over about her jewellery is that all the pieces are adjustable in length (with different clasps incorporated into the pieces). So they really are a keepsake which can be worn forever. It makes a great gift for a special occasion (baptisms, Bar Mitzvahs, birthdays, etc.).
And the exciting news: Arabelle is very generously giving away a Ricochet bracelet (pictured) worth £190 to one lucky reader! Just leave a comment below by January 20th, and we’ll pick one winner at random!
Good luck!
P.S. You can find the Arabelle children’s collection at Dragons of Walton Street in London.
P.P.S. Congrats to Siobhan from Germany who won our last give-away: the fabric wall stickers by I Love Mae.
This give-away is now closed. Congrats to the winner, Naomi (and her daughter Roo).

I’m really excited about this give-away. I have a particular fondness for Hucklebones — do you remember I raved about the lovely yellow coat last winter from Hucklebones’ first collection, or that I was so pleasantly surprised to see the exquisite pieces in their second one?
For their third collection, Zoe and Dan of Hucklebones have outdone themselves again. Luxurious materials (pure silk, wool, cashmere, super soft jersey) printed with designs that are especially created for the season, all in highly original, classic cuts with an interesting twist. Any little girl would look absolutely darling in these creations!

Hucklebones is kindly giving away all three of the dresses (pictured above) from their winter collection to one lucky Babyccino reader. I’m sure you know a little princess (or three) who would love to wear one of these darling dresses, just in time for the holidays.
The following dresses are available in sizes 2yr, 3yr and 4yr and have a total retail value of £264.00 (!!):
- The Big Bow Dress (100% silk with a Hucklebones designed print)
- The Bluebird Frill Placket Dress (90% pure wool, 10% cashmere, woven in Scotland)
- The Matchstick Forest Dress (supersoft jersey with a Hucklebones designed print)
Just leave a comment below by December 16th and we’ll pick one lucky winner at random. Oh, one more thing. In order to be able to win you have to be a subscriber to our daily email!!

P.S. Congratulations to Simone in Munich who won our last give-away: the Bianca Jones personalised silver bangle.
Courtney in London
November 8th, 2009
I met with Bianca Jones recently and she kindly opened up her jewellery box for me to browse. By the end of our meeting, I had tried every piece on, and decided I really wanted it ALL (including the box!).
Bianca Jones makes lovely jewellery, including everything from fancy diamond rings to silver necklaces and bracelets. One of my favorite pieces is her signature silver bangle with delicate little alphabet disc charms. I love the idea of getting a letter for each of my kids (kind of like a modern-day charm bracelet).
And now for the exciting bit… Bianca is graciously giving a silver bangle away to one lucky reader! The winner can choose up to THREE charms, personalizing it as you wish.
Just leave a comment below by Sunday, November 1st, and we’ll pick one winner at random. (Oh, and you must be subscribed to our daily email in order to win.)

When it comes to simple ideas, these cool Billy Rockers take the cake. They’re not just fun ride-along toys, but also a craft project/design challenge. With a little paint, crayons, stickers, etc. you can customize the rockers into anything you wish: a rocking horse, dragon, dolphin, unicorn, etc.
The Billy Rocker is made from recycled cardboard, is sturdy enough to hold a hefty 50Kg and comes flat-packed in a box ready for easy assembly. Simple but WAY cool!
In keeping with our ’simple living’ theme this week, we’re giving away one of these rockers! Just leave a comment below with your best tip/idea for simple living, and the best comment will win!
Good luck!
P.S. A big congrats to Mai from North Carolina, USA who won the last give-away: the beautiful necklace with choice of birthstones from Prismera Design.

October 5th, 2009
Not very long ago I wrote a post about birthstones — about the ancient origin of the tradition, and about how I just love the idea of birthstone necklaces…
I really LOVE the birthstone necklaces of Prismera Design. They are just lovely in their simplicity: the larger ‘chain’ makes them fresh in appearance, and the gemstones are of a truly wonderful quality.
I guess you know where I’m going…
Prismera Design is now generously offering one lucky Babyccino reader a custom birthstone necklace! (!!!) The winner can choose the colour of the necklace, the size of the chain and may pick up to three birthstones of choice.
We know, this is big…
If you want a chance to win such a beautiful and personal necklace, then just leave a comment below by Sunday, September 27th. We’ll pick one winner at random.
Oh, one more thing. In order to be able to win you have to be a subscriber to our daily email!!

P.S. Congratulations to Amanda from Australia who won our last give-away: a pair of maternity leggings from Mama-la-Mode!
Esther in Amsterdam
September 12th, 2009
I’ve already mentioned being a huge fan of the uber stylish maternity boutique, Mama-La-Mode, which sells everything from maternity basics to designer dresses for the style-conscious mums-to-be. Whether it’s a pair of trendy pregnancy jeans, a winter coat, or a maternity swimsuit, Mama-La-Mode has it all.
In fact, just recently they launched their very own label of maternity staples — a collection of core essentials made from soft jersey and intended for all 9 months of pregnancy. Think skinny strap camisoles with built-in bra support, basic fold-down black trousers, and must-have black leggings.
In honor of their launch, Mama-La-Mode is offering a pair of maternity leggings to one lucky reader. Just leave a comment below by next Wednesday, September 9th, and we’ll pick one winner at random.
Good luck!
P.S. Mama-La-Mode is also offering 10% off to all first-time customers. Just use the promo code babyccino at check-out.
P.P.S. The winner of our last give-away, the Bear Feet shoes, is Claudia from Italy!
Courtney in London
September 2nd, 2009
I recently wrote a post raving about my daughter’s lovely leather infant sandals from Bear Feet Shoes which are soft and flexible, perfect for tiny baby feet.
Bear Feet shoes are all handmade in America. The soles on the infant shoes are made from natural vegetable tanned leather while the soles on the bigger sizes are made from natural rubber which has been extracted from the latex sap of the Hevea tree. Cool, no? They’re natural, sustainable, extremely well made and could not be cuter.
Bear Feet Shoes is now offering a free pair of shoes to one Babyccino reader. The winner can choose the size, style and color preference. (They ask for two style and color preferences in case they don’t have the first preference in stock.)
Just leave a comment below by next Monday, August 31st, and we’ll pick one winner at random.
Good luck!
This give away is now closed! We picked a random number to determine the winner and that number is 28 — Claudia. Congats, Claudia, and thank you all for entering!!

The Bambu give-away has ended, and we received loads of good tips for eating healthily. (Thank you to everyone who left comments!) Together with Joslyn, the owner of Shakshuka, we had a hard time deciding which tip was the best, but in the end, we’ve decided on this one…
The winner of the Bambu set is Annemarieke, who wrote:
My almost 4-year-old little girl started to be interested in eating vegetables when I told her they will make her strong like Mega Mindy (a Belgian female little girl’s version of Superman). Strong like Pipi Longstocking works too. Tonight she started dinner by picking the pieces of vegetable from between the pasta, instead of the other way around! If that doesn’t prove this trick. All it takes is a super hero……
Congratulations, Annemarieke, and enjoy the set!
While there can only be one winner (I hate that part of competitions), we thought these other two tips were definitely worth publishing too:
There was Sali, who said:
Definitely leading by example is a great rule… and if they say no… keep trying… sometimes it takes them 6-8x to like a new food… and if it still doesn’t work, blend it! “Crocodile Soup” is one of our favorites… any kind of veg gets blended up… and soup’s on! The one other trick that works is to get them involved in the kitchen… my son will eat almost anything if he helps prepare it!
There was Lee, who said:
My baby girl starts the day with a breakfast of freshly grated apple and her favourite baby muesli (a tip from the Swiss). Refreshing in hot weather or you can stick it under the grill for a warm breakfast on cold days. The caramelised apple is quite delicious especially with a dash of mixed spice. I also add finely grated almond or Brazil nuts. Also hemp seeds, berries in season and other fruit that go well with apple. Quick and easy to prepare, a relief from too much dairy and whatever else she has that day, she’s already had a whole apple. And you know what they say… an apple a day!

An important factor in raising children is, as we are all well aware, teaching them to eat healthy and responsibly. Offering your kids a varied diet with fresh, organic ingredients (and trying to make them eat it too) is one of the big challenges of parenthood! These days however, we have discovered that ’eating healthy’ isn’t just limited to the food ingredients we use. No, the tableware we all serve it on is absolutely of equal importance!
The bowls and utensils from Bambu are completely toxic-free, extremely beautiful AND non breakable, which makes them very suitable for use with children. All the products are made from 100% organically-grown bamboo, and the bowls have a natural, matte lacquer in wonderful bright colours, derived from, who could have thought, the cashew nut tree. A safe bet, and cool looking too!
The very stylish Joslyn from the hip eco-boutique Shakshuka has kindly offered a complete Bambu set to one lucky Babyccino reader. The set will contain (as pictured): a mini-me bowl of your colour choice, a spork (we love it), one set of infant utensils and one set of kid’s utensils.
Just leave a comment below by Sunday, July 26th in which you give us your best tip for eating healthily (weather it’s a recipe, a trick or simply a product). The best tip will win, AND will be published on Babyccino!
Good luck!

THIS GIVE-AWAY IS NOW CLOSED!

We’ve all raved about the mini-micro scooter more than once before. Now the great news is that micro has come out with the follow-up version to their best-selling kid’s scooter. The maxi-micro is stable and maneuverable like the mini but is a bit more sturdy, to cater for children from 5 years old.
The board is just a little bit longer and wider and it has two wheels at the back (but very close to each other, so working as just one wheel), and the joystick steer has adjustable height. The look and colour is definitely more grown up, appealing to those children needing an upgrade from the mini.
For added safety you can pair it up with one of their helmets — which look so cool you will be able to convince the most reluctant kid.
The maxi-micro is on sale now worldwide, although in the US it’s marketed as the maxi kick scooter.
Now for the exciting news… Babyccino has one maxi-micro scooter in black and one micro helmet to give away to one of our readers!! Just leave a comment below by Sunday, June 28th, and we’ll pick one winner at random.
Good luck!
