Kallio, making old clothes new again

We first discovered Kallio at Playtime NYC last year and loved the concept immediately. The designer, Karina Kallio, takes vintage men’s shirts and turns them into beautiful pieces for children.

My favourite are the tunic dresses. They are amazing! I seriously wish she would make them in women’s sizes. I got a dress for Ivy, and if it were my choice she would wear it every single day. It’s that cute.

Dear Courtney,

Thank you so much for highlighting and writing about Kallio.
Ivy is just adorable. And I love how she & you styled her in Kallio.
I have been getting so many requests from women to make the tunics in their (adult) sizes that I may just have to explore that avenue. :) I’ll let you know when I do.
Have an amazing day!!
Love from Freezing Brooklyn.

Courtney – thank you for introducing me to this brand! I have always loved the idea of upcycling for children’s clothing and cannot wait to get the dresses I ordered! Ivy certainly makes them look beautiful! xx

Hi, I love these dresses from Kallio – can I ask what size you ordered (ie Ivy’s correct size it up a size) they look quite generous but I don’t want to get too big or it will be ages before my little one (20 months) will be able to wear it?!! Thanks
