Guess Who? And other fun games from when we were young!

It’s such fun to have children old enough to play games! We’ve recently been playing a lot of  ‘Guess Who?‘ — do you remember this game from when you were young? It was one of my favourites! We also have been playing ‘Operation‘, that silly game where you have to put the bones in the right place and not touch the sides (or else the horrible sound will buzz and the guy’s nose will turn red!). Another game I re-discovered is Pim Pam Pet, an old Dutch game which I’m not sure exists in English? And, my kids are still too young, but do you remember Scotland Yard? Or what about Twister? And have you been playing Monopoly with your kids yet? (I haven’t, but I think they are probably old enough.) Sadly, in my opinion, the new editions don’t look as cool as they did in the eighties…

Tell me — which were your favourite games?

xxx Esther

Oh we love games. Tila is still too young for most of them but I remember a few of my favourites: Monopoly, Guess Who? and Pictionary – I got that one when I was a little older though. And you know what I still adore? Puzzles! Oh I love puzzles!

Oh my gosh, Pictionary! Hilarious — I think I must still have that game… When the kids are a bit older I will pull it out!! x

I agree, monopoly was way cooler in the 80’s. I remember playing that a lot, and Clue. I loved that board game because we were like little detectives! Battleship also sticks out in my head. I totally love 80’s kids stuff, it’s all great memories for me. My husband and I actually Googled “80’s toys” the other night and had so much fun reminiscing. Xox!

We LOVE Guess Who! Friends of ours made us a Guess Who game with photos of our family and friends on it for a wedding present – we love playing it. WE’ve just started playing card games with Helena. Her favourite is Pester – Pim would love that game! xx

Guess Who is a big hit here too. I just inherited a really old Snakes and Ladders board from my grandmother. We also love Happy Families (card game). And I can’t wait until they are old enough to play Boggle!

Boggle is one of my favourite games!!! :)
