Shusha Toys

I spotted these brilliant wooden toys on the web a few months ago and loved the look of them immediately! Aren’t they so fun?! Kids aside, I would personally LOVE to play with the wooden face parts – to be able to create different people and facial expressions – so cool!

Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of seeing these toys (and meeting the designers!) in person at Playtime Paris and it confirmed how much I love them. Shusha toys are designed and made by a husband and wife team who recently had their first baby and turned their design interest toward toys. All the toys are made in a local workshop in their hometown in Russia and are made from eco wood and non-toxic paints. The result is a beautiful, lovingly created collection of toys which will appeal to children and grown-ups alike!

At the moment, there aren’t very many shops who stock the Shusha toys – but hopefully their visit to Playtime was successful and we’ll be seeing these toys in shops soon. I personally can’t wait to buy them! Stay tuned…

I would love to buy these. I saw a wooden block set on Pinterest that had different facial features to pair together- but could not find a place to buy the set. My two and a half year old LOVES to draw faces so this would be fun for him. Great find. – Joya

I discovered these amazing toys last summer in a Russian store. I couldn’t believe my eyes! It’s such a shame I couldn’t get to Playtime this time, I would have loved to have met the designers!

These are reminiscent of the Miller Goodman Playshapes that you have featured – how I wish these beautiful wooden toys were stocked more widely on Australia so that I wouldn’t have to pay such exorbitant shipping rates! I have been following your blog for some time and just love your posts, whether they lead me to try a new activity with my kids, plan my next holiday, attempt new recipes or, more often than not, (sorry hubby dear) jump online to do some serious shopping!

Eira,
Thanks so much for your lovely comment and feedback!
Yes, these toys are slightly reminiscent of the Miller Goodman ones – ( which we also LOVE!!), but also different enough to justify buying them as well. : )

Shusha Toys are now available at Toyella

We’ve been waiting to get them 3 years but had been difficult to get hold of importing from Russia but they now ship some of their lines from Germany so we got them immediately. I’m looking at some in my office in UK right now. They are superb.

There are three products so far. The other lines come are available to Toyella in August 2014.

These blocks are great for children to play with. They allow the use of imagination. For younger children, it’s a great way to teach different emotions with the different facial expressions.
