One Sunday is an Australian brand and boutique solely specialising in fashion for girls 8 to 14 years old. The collections are designed by the owner Henrietta Cheshire, and are made sweat shop-free in Sydney from fabrics milled in New Zealand. I’m super glad I came across One Sunday, because my daughter Sara wears a size 8/9 these days (she just turned 7 — it must be the Dutch genes, making her so tall and skinny!), and I found that loads of the great kids’ brands we know only run up to the age of 6. The One Sunday collection is just perfect for (pre) tween girls — it’s not too childish, not too grown-up, and designs are simple and classic but always slightly edgy and cool. There’s been given a lot of thought to detailing and fabrics, like for instance the stripy Boat Neck Swing Top featured above (which I got for Sara) — it consists of two layers, the first (thin, white) layer is pleated at the neckline, making the second stripy layer taper out beautifully and giving it just that distinction and specialness to it to make it stand out. Simple, but sophisticated!
