My house on Design*Sponge!

I am a huge fan of Design*Sponge (well, really who isn’t?!!), and I look forward to their Monday sneak peeks each week. In fact, when we were renovating the house, I often browsed through all the past sneak peaks for a bit of design inspiration — it’s so fun to see all the different interior styles. Well anyway, I am so super excited to have my very own house featured on this impressive design blog. It’s a little bit like hearing your own voice on a recorder, a bit bizarre, sort of funny… but also really exciting! The image above is my boys’ bedroom, and you can check out the rest of my house here. (Please say nice things! It’s still a work in progress.)

Hi Jill,
Thanks for your comment.
The prints in my boys’ bedroom are mostly from Oliver Jeffers — we are big fans of his children’s books and you can buy some of the prints from his website. The painting on the middle of the fireplace mantle is by a friend, Jeff Kowatch. His paintings are AMAZING!

Look lovely, I love the kitchen area and the glass roof, hard to believe it is a city house. Please tell me it doesn’t look so spick and span all the time!

Your hard work has certainly paid off…it is gorgeous!!! Love all the windows…they definitely add to the airy feel that the white interior creates. And while the kitchen is so lovely and open, my favorite part from the photos is your office. The desk in front of the large window to the backyard is so cozy. Congratulations!

Your home is to die for, esp that kitchen! I love it. You’ve done a wonderful job creating a bright, modern and cozy home. Plus, little details like the Belle & Boo bunny sticker in Ivy’s room add such charm. Nicely done, dream of having anything remotely close to this one day!!

Your home is Beautiful. Could i possibly ask where you got your rug from in the living room?

Thanks Patricia. Yes, we ordered the rug from Crucial Trading. You can get it custom made to fit the size you want, choose the carpet and the border. They make the best carpets/rugs!
