Favourite Toys: Paperpod Cardboard Dolls House
November 18, 2010
I cannot recommend the Paperpod Cardboard Dolls House enough. I like it so much that it is the only toy allowed to live permanently in our living room, and it now has become a work of art. I love the fact that children get to decorate it themselves and let their fantasies go wild. We have had this doll house now for over a year and we have redecorated it several times. I don’t think it is ever going to be featured in “Ideal Homes and Gardens” but it is such a fun family activity and it makes the doll house very personal. Our house is inhabited by anyone and everyone, from toy dinosaurs to a Barbie sporting a mustache, and we now have started crafting furniture for it — the fun never stops.
Available from Smallable.

This reminds me of the full size houses/buildings (maybe vehicles?) made of cardboard you can get, which can also be decorated by your children
This is too cool. I have already bought everything for Christmas but I may have to pick up one more item.
thanks for this review emilie. i bought the cardboard garage (i think also form smallable) and it was the biggest waste of money! it was so flimsy and the ramps going to the upper levels bent and ripped in about 2 seconds. it would not have occurred to me to get this so glad to hear it is good. it looks great.
The only toy in your living room? I clearly need some tips on toy storage. Perhaps a post soon, please, on how you manage this? I also love the house.
Gabrielle, sorry to hear about the cardbord garage! The house is actually really sturdy and up to now nothing has broken even though it has been used a lot!
I love the idea — we have a wooden doll house, also really cool but less inviting to practise interior design skills…
Hi Emilie, this looks great and I’m thinking of getting one for my daughter for her 4th birthday just after Christmas. What age are your kids? Thanks! Natasha
Natasha, my kids are 2.5 and almost 5, both of them have a great time with this house…
