Two Kids and a Little Baby

People ask me how I’m getting on with three kids. Well, I get on. And it’s great! Ava is the sweetest baby in the world. Of course. She’s delightful and wonderful. She’s that easy third child I’ve heard rumours about. She’s the icing on the cake, the cherry on the pie…
After the first weeks after the birth, we’re now back in our usual structure. Getting up, having breakfast, kids to school… The baby adjusts to the schedule, and sometimes the schedule adjusts to her. Life is not so different, it’s just a whole lot better! We all enjoy her so much (even in the middle of the night) and the kids absolutely adore her.
Of course it takes longer to get out of the house, and of course the other kids need more attention, and of course she wakes up three times at night, and of course the milk in the fridge is finished. But the thing is, I’m just not so bothered by it anymore.
We live, we love, and we have each other. It feels good to have three kids!

Thats wonderful!
Our little boy is 12 weeks now and I just feel the same…it is great and we all enjoy the difference he made – everything feels “real family” now…
His sister adores him and I just relive the baby moments, especially because they are and look very similar…and like you say…lots of things… I am not so bothered anymore…

I feel the same way about having three kids. Total bliss!

And she is seriously the cutest little love! I just want to plant a big smooch on her cheeks! :)

What a sweetheart! I am in Amsterdam expecting number 3 in September and just hope that my two boys also love their little sister… I’m pretty nervous about it.

BTW: you can freeze milk – it’s worth sticking a litre in the freezer just for this sort of emergency (that said, I managed to run out of that as well this week and it turns out that the avondwinkel doesn’t stay open in the morning!).

Congratulations – what a beautiful daughter! I am expecting our 3rd child and strangely feel completely relaxed and unfazed at the idea of adding another to our brood – hopefully our number 3 will be just as easy as yours!

My third child Kimberly just finished her first year in college !! I can’t believe it!
I was very fortunate to be a stay at home mom because family is so important and children grow up fast. I didn’t have a cell phone to be in touch with my first two daughters. I wanted to comment on your beautiful baby, she is so lovely! I am the mother of paigelauren, the baby clothing designer. I can’t wait to be a grandmother someday.

Your daughter is utterly ADORABLE! Too cute. Glad to hear you’re adjusting back to “normal” (whatever that may mean) – it does take a while, but I love our little family of 5. As far as having 3 children, I totally agree – our 3rd has got to be the most mellow baby on the planet. Her older sisters completely adore her. They especially love climbing into her crib to cuddle her when she wakes and it’s so precious to walk into the room and see them all snuggling together and giggling, crammed into 1 baby crib.

Your daughter is really very cute and beautiful. Is it hard to manage all three of them?? Thanks for sharing your experiences and your daughter’s picture.

Ava is gorgeous! What a beautiful photo.

I also have 3 kids – Mieli and Layla and finally, our son, Luca who is just about to turn 2. Our house is very busy but, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Luca really is the icing of the cake!!! Best wishes these are the best times.

Congrats! And she looks lovely! Hope you are doing well!

How is the little dress you have got from us? You’ve got it at The Kleine Fabriek in Amsterdam.

She’s beautiful Esther!

I went to school with girl from a family of 17 children!!! There was a documentary on the family on television in which the AMAZING mother said that the first 2 children were by far the hardest and that she nearly stopped after the 2nd!

Thank you all so much!! I’m such a proud mama!! Ava is still as easy and lovely as ever, but I think I’m done, girls. No more number 4…
(Can you imagine having 17?????? Wow)
