Rock animals

rock animalsThis past weekend on our usual trek in the Heath we collected some stones for a little craft project. We searched for rocks that resembled little animals/bugs, and once we were happy with our collection we took them home to be painted. We let the kids paint the main color and then we added the details. Here are our favorites: a frog, a pig, a ladybird, a mouse, a bee and a rabbit.

It was a very simple project that the kids really enjoyed. And actually, they’re still playing with their little rock animals like shiny new toys!

Here’s what you’ll need:
-a collection of rocks
-a set of acryllic paints
-a couple paintbrushes
-and some imagination!

Super idea! We did it yesterday, and though our animals were more of the fantasy kind, we had lots of fun doing it and playing with them afterwards.
