One of the great things about being back at work is being in contact with creative and inspiring people again. I’m always bowled over by the depth of talent in Australia. Carli Jeffrey is one such woman I have recently been in correspondence with. She wrote into the magazine where I work to share one of her decorating projects and I really wanted to share it with everyone who visits Babyccino. It’s such a simple but stylish decorating idea for kids’ rooms. Here are Carli’s instructions on how to make these “20-minute wonders”. The great thing about this project is you can use leftover fabric or wallpaper or even gorgeous wrapping paper. Too easy!
Choose canvas and paint two coats – you don’t have to be dainty.
Choose your template (an animal, a bird… anything at all). I found an outline of each animal through Google images then blew it up to the size I wanted and printed it out.
Trace over the printed image onto your chosen paper.
Cut it out – glue on, then two coats of modge-podge or something similar to finish.
(This one’s good for the kids to help with or even do themselves.)
