When I got my daughter’s winter wardrobe, I completely forgot to take into account that she was going to go to school and thus needed to have clothes that she could easily put on and off herself.

I got a stern talking to by her teacher one day when I sent her to school in a pair of skinny jeans… I guess it is fair enough; taking 20 three-year-olds to the toilet is time consuming, so the last thing you need is to help every single one of them to undress. The helpful suggestion by the teacher to dress my kid in ‘un jogging’ (in the English speaking world known as track suit bottoms) did not really appeal to me.

I decided to rethink this whole winter wardrobe thing and get her a couple of nice dresses, pair them up with some tights, a pair of (velco fastened) Mary Jane’s — et voila — an outfit that makes me and the teacher happy.

On the quest for the perfect dress for school,  I fell upon RosieGoa on Etsy. I loved her laid back, simple designs. I ordered her Prairie dress and it fits the ticket exactly. It is a super comfortable, cute cotton tunic-style dress that my daughter is wearing this winter with a pair of leggings or thick tights. It will equally be lovely in the summer with a pair of sandals. The stern teacher has nothing to complain about now!
