Du Pareil Au Même
One of my favorite one-stop shops for kids and babies here in France is a chain called DPAM (Du Pareil Au Même). You want funky little bodysuits? You need any essential bits and pieces for your prams, cots or beds? You want some cute little shoes that don’t cost the earth? You head over to DPAM and the chances are you are going to find what you have been looking for!
DPAM (at least in Paris) is split into 3 different boutiques: baby, kids and shoes. My main tip is to look for baby clothes at the kid’s shop as opposed to the baby shop. For some reason, they carry two different ranges. The range in the baby shop is mostly white or pastel coloured, while the baby range in the kid’s shop is really funky in bright colours with cute designs!
DPAM has now expanded into most European countries, and if you can’t find them in your country, you can order on-line!
Happy shopping!

I have been going to DPAM for sometime now, I have to say that the selection for boys is not as great as the one for girls. There are too many prints and writings. It’s good for basics though, plain t-shirts or polo shorts. Cords and dungarees.
I actually quite like the baby collection, at least what we get in Italy, softer colours but loads of beige, lilac, grey, blu… not just pink and baby blue.
I’ve had some nice gifts from DPAM for both kids…including a gorgeous wool overcoat for my then 18-month old daughter. I’ve never been in a shop and keep meaning to get myself to one in Paris…but Michela, your reply has been thinking as I’m at a loss…where does one get nice boys clothes that don’t have diggers, dogs or dino’s? Having had a girl first, I’m so frustrated by the dirth of stylish, handsome, solid-color boys clothing. We’re a bit of prepstersbut there there are only so many horses on polo shirts I can stand. Please help!!! Who makes good boys clothes…other than Polo, I love P.O.P (swedish and limited availability in London),sometimes Zara….any other suggestions? And I don’t mean designer (read ridiculously expensive!!!).
Amanda, you’re so right. In Italy, you can get good quality plain solid colours clothes at benetton kids. They seem to make two collections. One has prints and changes every year. The other one has no prints and it has been the same forever. According to Courtney Old Navy does great jeans and great polo shirts and they are inexpensive. I guess that, if you want to avoid spending a fortune and stay away from prints, the dressing style for your boy will be a bit boring. Just mix and match as much as you can. Buy polo shirts at Gap (or Old Navy if you can) and then get a nice jumper in a (cool) posh shop! I somehow think you’d love Italian high end kids clothing shop, very preppy… but not only horses around!
THose are really fun! I love finding new, unique baby stuff..you just can’t have enough!
I just came back from France and got some adorable stuff for my daughter at DPAM!
But Michela is so right – I couldn’t find anything cute for my son!
