Food and clothes all under one roof

A supermarket is not naturally the place to go to buy children’s clothes, but over here in Paris, I cannot resist buying a little dress or a top every time I need to shop for a bag of potatoes.

Our local supermarket is a Monoprix and they stock some of the loveliest baby and kids clothes. They sell cute little cotton summer dresses and even little cashmere babygros. I especially like they organic cotton infants line. It can be hit and miss but it is always worth having a look for that lovely little dress that would not look out of place at Bonpoint, for a fifth of the price.

The only problem is that I am not the only mom that has discovered this particular treasure trove. I dropped my daughter off to play school the other day and about 3 other little girls were wearing the same dress as she. Oh well, I guess it shows that we all have good taste…..

I loved Monoprix when I was in France on holiday! I also miss the major supermarkets in England that stock kids clothes for a fraction of the price elsewhere.

I remember when Emilie took me ‘grocery shopping’ last time I was in Paris with her… we came home with loads of nice little items: a cashmere jumper, some cotton onesies, lovely French soaps, etc. etc. I LOVED the Monoprix!

I love Monoprix! A friend recommended stopping there while on a quick trip to Paris. Many of their clothes reminded me of Petit Bateau (just less expensive)!
