Win! (!!!)
Not very long ago I wrote a post about birthstones — about the ancient origin of the tradition, and about how I just love the idea of birthstone necklaces…
I really LOVE the birthstone necklaces of Prismera Design. They are just lovely in their simplicity: the larger ‘chain’ makes them fresh in appearance, and the gemstones are of a truly wonderful quality.
I guess you know where I’m going…
Prismera Design is now generously offering one lucky Babyccino reader a custom birthstone necklace! (!!!) The winner can choose the colour of the necklace, the size of the chain and may pick up to three birthstones of choice.
We know, this is big…
If you want a chance to win such a beautiful and personal necklace, then just leave a comment below by Sunday, September 27th. We’ll pick one winner at random.
Oh, one more thing. In order to be able to win you have to be a subscriber to our daily email!!
Good luck!!!
P.S. Congratulations to Amanda from Australia who won our last give-away: a pair of maternity leggings from Mama-la-Mode!

What a neat giveaway! Count me in! Out baby is due in November and this would be a sweet way to celebrate their arrival! Thanks for the opportunity!
It was love at first sight when I saw the birthstone necklace. However, since I am not working and a stay at home mom, accessories for me, aren’t on our budget. What a nice treat that would be for me. Plus, when I am holding my daughter, she loves to gently play with my jewelery. It would be a gift that I could pass on someday when she is old enough to wear it without wanting to put it in her mouth.
I love custom jewelry … they’re so much more meaningful … would be great to have a necklace with three birthstones … mine, my husband and son’s

Birthstones are not just any piece of jewelry … they have more meaning than just aesthetic value…I’m sure as a woman and mum its always special to have your loved ones birthstones close to heart…
I found this beautiful poem on birthstones…I hope its a reading pleasure for all :
By her who in January was born
No gem save garnets shall be worn
They will ensure her constancy
True friendship and fidelity.
The February born shall find
Sincerity and peace of mind,
Freedom from passion and from care,
If they, the amethyst will wear.
By her who in March was born
No gem save bloodstone shall be worn
They will ensure her constancy
True friendship and fidelity.
She who from April dates her years,
diamonds shall wear,
lest bitter tears
For vain repentance flow.
Who first beholds the light of day
In spring’s sweet, flower month of May
And wears an emerald all her life
Shall be a loved and a loving wife.
By her who in June was born
No gem save pearls shall be worn
They will ensure her constancy
True friendship and fidelity.
The gleaming ruby should adorn,
All those who in July are born,
For thus they’ll be exempt and free,
From lover’s doubts and anxiety.
Wear a peridot or for thee,
No conjugal fidelity,
The August born without this stone,
`Tis said, must live unloved; alone.
A maiden born when autumn leaves
Are rustling in September’s breeze,
A sapphire on her brow should bind;
To bring her joy and peace of mind.
October’s child is born for woe,
And life’s vicissitudes must know,
But lay an opal on her breast,
And hope will lull those woes to rest.
Who first comes to this world below
In dreary November’s fog and snow,
Should prize the topaz amber hue,
Emblem of friends and lovers true.
If cold December gave you birth
The month of snow and ice and mirth
Place on your hand a turquoise blue;
Success will bless whate’er you do.

It’s nearly my daughter’s second birthday-this post has given me the idea of getting a birthstone necklace to wear myself until she is old enough to pass it on to…although these days she thinks she is more than old enough to wear my jewellery!
Absolutely gorgeous!

What a fresh alternative to the initial pendants!
I love to see that this many people read your blog! We adopted our two girls from birth; and, while I never thought parenting would be this challenging (plus the girls are 10 and 1/2 months apart) it is also the most rewarding gift. This necklace is a great keepsake to pass down to them when they are older…
This is such a modern version of a delightful tradition!
