When I flew to London with my three-year-old twins I was in a complete and total panic. For weeks I would lie awake at night picturing nothing but six hours of high pitched screams and death stares. When I asked for advice on how to cope, one friend suggested that I flood the first class cabin with water, freeze it, and hire the escapades to perform. Another friend simply said “M&M’s, Sticker books and Benadryl.”
Like any rational parent with the will to live, I have no shame in busting out the DVD player… so when they grew tired of the doodle pads and pulling apart everything within reach I broke it out and fanned a selection of their most prized Nickelodian shows (cue the sound of angels singing). What made the DVD even more of a hit were the Califone headphones that a friend told us about. Unlike other cumbersome headsets, Califone headphones are made for smaller heads and they fit nice and snug. Choose from a crowd pleasing panda, tiger or bear. The earphones put a smile on the skeptical faces of my surrounding passengers who, like me, were thankful for a peaceful, scream free flight.

These are SO cute! thanks for the tip, I think they would work wonders in the car as well!
We recently flew to London with our 3 yr old and we used Califone headphones. His old ones did not block background noise at all so he never liked using them on airplanes. Califones, while not noise cancelling, do knock out a lot of noise. Plus, the volume control on the headsets themselves really help. Though I do like the idea of making first class into an ice skating rink.
They look do cute and practical. I have never done a transatlantic flight with 2 but it must be “quite a challenge”….
It’s so true that normal headphones just don’t do the trick. I’ve always struggled with them when trying to encourage my boys to watch a movie while on the plane. I’ll definitely order some of these!
Those are so cute and I need a second pair. I have an 11 hour flight coming up without husband and will have my 4 year old with the video Ipod watching many downloaded TV series and 16 month old on portable DVD with baby einstein. Desperate times call for desparate measures!
Thanks for the tip!
Hi
These earphones look really great and the animal themes will definitely encourage toddlers to wear them. I would really like to purchase the tiger ones for my daughter but haven’t been able to find them in the UK. Can you advise where I can get them from as the website you mention is only for the US. Many thanks Claire
