We love Pamela Allen in our house. Her books are very popular in Australia, so good to see she is also appreciated further afield! "Mr McGee Goes to Sea" is another of our favourites.

It is such a lovely idea to save your children's favourite books so that they can, in turn, share them with their children. I remember reading on one of your earlier posts that you still have some of your childhood books, and as a result I have been ordering my son's most loved books in hardcover so that I can start this tradition in our family as well. So thanks for the great idea!

Jayne,
"Who Sank the Boat" was one of my all-time favorites as a kid! I still have my original copy, which I read to my kids from time to time (the pages are falling out, so I have to treat it with extra care)!
I'll check out the others you've mentioned....

My two-year-old son and I are currently loving:

- "Jazzy in the Jungle" and "Hooray for Fish" by Lucy Cousins for the lovely colourful illustrations and sweet stories;

- all of Lynley Dodd's books, especially "Slinky Malinky, Open the Door" and "Schnitzel von Krumm's Basketwork" - both wonderful to read aloud;

- "Cockatoos" by Quentin Blake - lovely illustrations;

- "Shhh! Little Mouse" and "Who Sank the Boat" by Pamela Allen;

- "It Looked Like Spilled Milk" by Charles G Shaw - a simple and beautiful book that allows children to experiment with their imagination.

Just wanted to let you know that at the enthousiastic and excellent recommendation of Esther, I recently purchased Joseph Garcia’s Complete Guide to Babysigning and Garry Slack’s ‘Learn to Sign with Olli ‘ and ‘Learn to Sign and Cook with Olli‘.

However, much to my suprise I found out that it was missing (!!) in the Babyccino Book Shop and I therefore had to revert directly to amazon.co.uk. I think you should add it to the Book Shop as other mummies, who plan to learn baby signing will surely want to purchase them ;)
