Terrific teepees!

Little Smiles TeepeeWe moved house last week, which was an exhausting and emotional experience! As happy as we are to have a bigger home with more space (which we needed thanks to a certain baby number 3 on the way), it was sad to leave the home where my children were born, and to leave a home my children were so happy in.

To make the move exciting for my kids, I promised them a surprise for the new house — something they could have for their play room, something really, really cool!

I bought them this really lovely teepee from Little Smiles, which absolutely thrilled them beyond belief! They just love having a little ‘house’ of their own — a place for their special toys, somewhere for them to hide away to a little world of their own.

The teepees are all beautifully hand-made, assemble quickly and easily in a matter of minutes, have velcro fasteners to close the doors, and are super, super cute!  (I think they make a perfect present for the holidays or any other big event.)

Little Smiles is a company run by a fellow mum of two named Melissa, who handles all orders personally, and will answer any questions you have.  She sells a range of teepees in different colors and prints, as well as other cute handmade toys.  Contact Melissa for more info.

This teepee is so cute – and such a good idea to give the boys a house of their own!!

If you have the space and can swing one, teepees are really one of the best gifts you can give. I bought one for my daughter when she was four or so and she didn’t stop playing with it. Fast forwards 2 years, and she still gets sooo excited whenever we bring it out from storage and set it up in her room again (don’t you just love seeing joy and excitemtent in your children’s eyes?!) Kids love having a kid-sized, PRIVATE, space for themselves where they can whisper, giggle, and store their stuff (aka, JUNK).

i have been contemplating buying a tent or a teepee for our playhouse and you just may have convinced me although my guess is that it needs to be a gift for both kids or there will be fighting……..when is there not fighting?

My daughters, now 8 and 6, will still play in theirs!
