Thidwick
Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose has been one of my most favorite books ever since I was little (I still have my original hardback copy). It is the most charming story about the most endearing, generous Moose. And of course I’m a sucker for Dr. Seuss and his brilliant rhymes.
Coming from America, where ‘Dr. Seuss’ is a household name, I always assume that everyone is familiar with this famous children’s book author. But interestingly, this isn’t so. Many of my European friends have never heard of Dr. Seuss, and even more surprisingly, my husband (who works in animation) says that it often happens that Dr. Seuss is referenced at work and nobody in the room knows who he is!
Oh my goodness… they’re missing so much! For not only is there Thidwick, but there’s Yertle the Turtle, there’s the Lorax
, there’s the Grinch
, and the list goes on and on.
Dr. Seuss was a genius. He was far ahead of his time, clever and bold. All of his books are wonderful, but of course dear ‘ol Thidwick is my favorite.

Dr Seuss is the best, my daughter’s personal favourite is Green Eggs and Ham…
We have that one too, it’s translated as “Prosciutto e Uova Verdi”!
Thidwick is wonderful! We also loved, “And to think that I saw it on Mulberry Street.”
