It is all we used after 6 months of age ( and I AM baby carrier obsessed - having owned 23 over the course of four kiddos). It beat out the kelty, two itterations of the baby bjorn and any number of slings and wraps. Just the most practical carrier on the block!

I agree that for a newborn, another carrier is probably more appropriate. I tried my ERGO when my daughter was 3 1/2 months and as soon as I pulled her legs apart to perch her around my waist, she started crying. But she LOVES it now and I love that I'm so comfortable carrying her. It really does balance the weight much better than anything else I've tried (BBjorn, slings, etc).

I also have an Ergo baby carrier and it has been very useful to me. I just wanted to point out that there are many other similar carriers out there, for instance I believe that the <a href="http://www.becobabycarrier.com/" title="Beco baby carrier" rel="nofollow"> is a little more stylish?

Other brands are eg "Patapum" and "Manduca".

You are so right! I have an ERGO too and I love it. It is so great to be able to use it both on the front and the back!
