My 3½-year-old is starting to say the most hilarious things. (Isn’t it funny, the things they say??) So recently I started to write down some of my favorite conversations with him.
Last month while browsing some of my favorite blogs, I happened across a post from Inchmark blog about her jar of quotes. She jots down the funny things her kids say onto a scrap of paper and then plops it into a jar she has on her desk. When she’s having a bad day, she reaches in and pulls out a quote, and suddenly she’s laughing.
I just LOVE this idea. What a cute way to keep and remember all the funny things your kids say. I’m off to find myself a big glass jar!

Don’t forget to create a version in a spreadsheet as a backup… oh and maybe store it in the cloud instead of your hard drive… or back up the drive to a NAS so you can be sure to have a safe local copy… holy crap, I wanna go home…. is it the weekend yet?
Wow, somebody had a hard week at work!
Well, it’s finally weekend now and the weather in Amsterdam is decent for a change!
That quotes jar is super cute! Very good idea. I also like the old-fashioned jar!
Adorable idea! Thanks for sharing.
yes it’s such a cool idea!
otherwise write them on a blog!
This is the most wonderful idea – I even have the perfect jar and will start tomorrow.
I love this idea. It´s very cool. Thanks Courtney.
They do say some cute things don’t they? I took my daughter to the doctor the other day and she point blank refuse to stick out her tongue to have her throat checked. She said to the doctor: “I will not stick out my tongue because my mommy told me that it is impolite to stick my tongue out!”
She had a point!
Maybe its because I am her mother but I thought it was the funniest thing I had heard for a long time.
I saw the same post, and started my own jar. It’s already getting pretty full! Yesterday I pulled a few scraps of paper out and read some choice quotes to my 4 year old. He got a kick out of the fact that I had been capturing the things he had said!
