The simplest toys are so often the best. One of my daughter’s favorite toys has, for a long time, been the Funny Faces by Vilac.

The concept is simple: 8 wooden blocks with 4 different face parts of 4 different animals on them, and then the kids’ imagination can go crazy. You can make a cat-dog, monkey-pig or even a cat with a dog nose and pig hair, all without a PHD in genetics!

The other advantage of the Funny Faces is that the blocks double up as building blocks whilst traveling.
